For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

How does that work? I am claustrophobic and I HAVE to have an aisle seat. Am I going to have to run in the plane and knock people over?

We were up at 4:30 this AM to take our sailor to the airport. The 10 day leave sure went fast. So now he is back in SC waiting 2 mo for power school to start, and nearly his first text home was "...can you guys come down again soon?" I think there will be a lot of Skype.

Comment by amanda on May 2, 2011 at 9:55pm: Psychology (counseling). I might skip my Masters and go for a Ph.D instead. We'll see. All depends on where my husband is stationed.

And business, whew! I have a minor i that. Definitely some of my toughest classes! Kudos!!

I was a business undergrad so for the MBA program I got to bypass all the 500 level pre-requisites and went straight into my core classes which is why I was able to get it done it 2 years. It will definatly be worth it I promise

Comment by amanda on May 2, 2011 at 9:05pm: SC_bound- I absolutely understand!! I graduate my undergrad in a few weeks then it's off to grad school. I'll be moving in with my sailor soon too and I'm 100X more excited about that then graduating! lol It's a huge accomplishment though, so congrats!!!

Comment by quiltblue on May 2, 2011 at 8:18pm: My son is in class 1129T and since he is 25, he keeps getting the "talk" about reporting the younger men that are drinking, or else! Which means, if he doesn't report those who are breaking the rules, he will get punished as well. I don't know if it's true or not, but the "talk" has happened four days in a row! He has told us that until all schools are over (2 years), he will abstain. I am praying that he can follow through.
