My Grandson when he was 4 or 5 kept breaking the toys at the preschool, my son and dil couldn't get him to understand that that was unacceptable behavior... I told them to do to SJB what I had done to his Daddy... "Go pick up and bring to me your favorite toy", well he went and got his new car and handed to his Me. My son had a big smile on his face, thinking something wonderful was going to happen. I explained that he was breaking all the "favorite toys" that belongs to the school and he had a choice of either giving this toy to the school or watch me break it and have to throw it away.  Scared the bjebbers out of him! He donated it to the school and never got a new one.  My grandson kept breaking things even after he donated several toys to the school... One day they sent him into the bathroom to "go"... about 20 minutes later someone came into the class room to inform them that there was water everywhere in the hallway. Seems, that SJB disconnected the water line from the toilet (must not have been tightened for a kid to do this right?) and then turned the water on full blast!  He was asked to leave the school after that!

Thanks, Amanda!!! Originally I wasn't going to see him until August, and then he surprised me by saying he got permission to come out. Your plan sounds like a good one - a good mix of both!! :)

Dan's mom...You just reminded me of a time my mother was watching my son while I was at work.  She would come out every summer my children were young to help watch the children to save us some money on childcare.  My son was four at the time and as I said before, very stubborn.  She was in a head lock with him over something. (She can be very stubborn herself.) She was insisting he clean up his toys or something like that.  She said he got really mad, stomped his foot and told her and a very loud voice, "You are NOT the mommy around here1"  Her comeback was, "I am the mommy of all mommies!!!!"

All your stories are sooooo entertaining I could not pick a favorite.  Thanks for sharing.

About the hep c.  Surprised he's in the program.  That is a serious thing.  My mother contracted it from surgery years ago.  Took interferon three time before eradicating it.  Some inflicted with it will not cure it.  It can be passed through razors and nail instruments if you have a nick.  It's hard to pass but not impossible.  The same way Aids is contracted, Hep C is.  At least that is my understanding.

maryquitecontrary-- OMG yay!! I totally understand the whole college thing and finally showing our sailors where we've been living for so long. When I used to visit him in GC, we would take the first night to just lounge and cuddle (especially after a long day of school/travel) and then the next night to go out and do whatever, then the third day was a mix of both, adventure in the morning then cuddle at night before we had to say goodbyes. Have a FABULOUS weekend with you sailor!!

Mrs. Andy,

Your story has me smiling from ear to ear!  I wish I would have thought of that punishment for my two when they were young.   :)

Oh and I'm a little late to join the 4th of July weekend discussion....but my boyfriend said they have class Friday for A school and was told he couldn't leave until after that. So he's coming out on a later flight and I am SOO excited! We're both from CA, but I've been living in Indiana for 13 months for school. He's never been here and I'm excited to show him where I've been for the past year plus. Will be great to see him, as I haven't seen him since PIR, and then not for 4 months before that. Have so many ideas for things we can do when he's here, but part of me just wants to rent some movies and cozy up on the couch the whole time he's here. haha Either way, I'm thrilled, and my countdown is officially at 61 hours!

Emily, my little brother did something similar to your niece when he was younger. Would play SO hard, that by the time he realized he had to pee, he really had to pee, and would pull his pants down and pee in the bushes!!! Then right back to playing :)
