Hi all - Happy Thursday!  I'm back from VA & trying to catch up.  We had a great time - so good to see our sailor ;-)  I'll share a couple of pictures now & more later.  The first picture is on his ship - so nice to get a personal tour!

Hope everyone has been well....NancyJo & I missed each other while she was in my neck of the woods (but that's ok, we'll meet up on the next time you are in town!).

Good for him, tina41! My sailor reenlisted when he got staff in NY, then when he was just on deployment he said that was it. No reenlistment. But now that he's back for over a month, it's on the table again for discussion with his wife. Hard to turn down those bonuses and they are telling him he can do those next two years as staff again. I just need to stay tuned on that way.

Do you have plans to go to HI? Sounds like a great place to be assigned. One of the guys I work with has a son who is a pilot stationed in HI. He went to visit over this past winter and said it was paradise.

Hello all!!

Hi nancy!  My sailor is doing good in HI!   He just re-enlisted this week!!  So proud of him!!!

I am sure bnuke is having a great time with her sailor!

Hi tina41! Glad you stopped in. It's been pretty quiet what with B'sNuke gone on vacation again, this time to see her sailor. I'm waiting to hear how that went. How's your sailor doing?

There's some of the difference between subs and carriers. A little more space on a carrier. I can't imagine the tight quarters those sub guys live with day in day out. Just touring the old sub at Patriot's Point is SC was an eye opener. So glad your husband was able to do that!

Well, I got back from San Diego late last night. The Friends & Family cruise was awesome! There was a bounce house, face painting, and balloon animals for the kids. They also had live music which was fun. Then the captain told the sailors to show their families all around the ship so off we went. We saw the hallway outside of the nuke area. Sorry, can't take you in there; nukes only. Down the hall is where they sleep. Sorry, can't take you in there, guys are sleeping. But I got a nice view of the galley :) Then the air show and "show of power" (big guns) just took your breath away. An exhausting but wonderful experience. Even saw some whales!

B'sNuke and I didn't get together b/c the day we were going to meet turned out to be the only day my son was free. Sorry, B'sNuke, next time for sure!

CoTwin, love the macho rain forest Tarzan shot! My my, American sailors are a fine bunch!

Glad to be back. Now back to reality for a while. Oh, one more thing. Changing planes in Vegas waiting for my flight home I decided to play the slots. I am $400 richer! Hooyah! Yep, great vacation...babies, carrier, sailors, and slots!
