Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Comment by NavymomShelley on January 7, 2013 at 3:05pm: Home today from PIR... I am so proud of my Navy Sailor!!!! We spent time together Friday night... He wanted a steak and then we had him all day Sat. He then wanted a seafood dinner. We went to the 2 mile mall and he got things he needed.(thank you gram's and Meme) then we went to Joe's Crab Shack. He loved it. The food was good and there was a great varity to chose from even if you didn't like seafood.(me) I am so glad that I hugged him before he left on Sat. We all thought that we where going to see him Sunday but they ended up not getting Liberity's. We waited until 3 before we went on our 17hr drive. He told us to go because he didn't know what was going on. I was very sad.. But know I also got to spend most of the weekend with him. Planning my next trip now... Hoping to fly because the drive is insane........ Drove all night this time. Did not stop like we did on the way there.... Congrats to everyone on here.....

Comment by CO-TwinSalorsMom on January 6, 2013 at 3:04pm: Had an awesome weekend. Just said our goodbyes to Stephen. tears all around. We had a great extra day with him on Saturday. Chicago deep dish pizza. Then spent all morning this am with him. Praying he can take liberty. For his twins PIR end of June. Thank you to all the moms here, Sarges taxi, navy lodge personel. All of you helped me to learn what I needed and helped everything go smoothly.
I now feel like come June whew will be pros.

Our son's BC buddy's mom couldn't make it to PIR at the last minute & the buddy spent yesterday with us after graduation. We gave him the second coin as a gift & he was thrilled.
