~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

We are going to see the last Twilight...I know...vampires and such. BUT, I read all the books and saw the other four...have to see the end now!
We saw 007's Skyfall the other day...FANTASTIC movie! If you are a 007 fan you will really, really like it. Want to see it again!
Okay, so we do have a Division 46...so this TG will start with Division 45 for the regular Divisions and have at LEAST 908 for the 900 Division. Did I see someone mention 909?
Don't know about ANY 800 Divisions yet.
Bethanne!!! I LOVE your Profile Picture!
Oh my goodness! I can't believe how many other parents have their kiddos in
SHIP 12 DIV 47...my son too! Just got my form letter yesterday. :)
Hi everyone, I'm Betsy and another "veteran" on here helping out. My youngest son graduated from boot camp in Dec. 2010 and is a CTT currently on an 8 month deployment on the USS John C. Stennis. Welcome to the Navy world. There are some wonderful "veterans" on here with answers to a lot of your questions. Feel free to ask away.
Bethanne: No worries! She will be the same daughter ....just with some wonderful "stuff" added to her as she becomes a sailor!
Good Morning Ladies!
My daughter is located on Ship 14 Div 046. Anyone have a recruit located there?
I received my form letter yesterday. So excited and relieved!!!! Can't wait to see how much she changed. I just hope the personality of my daughter before going hasn't completely disappeared. Nervous!!
Yes, each Ship has more than one division.
The SHIP number is the number of the Barracks the Recruits are housed in. The Ships at RTC are all named after real Naval Vessels. 14 is the USS Arizona. I hear that they have artifacts of the one from Pearl Harbor on the Quarterdeck (explains the term).
There are 14 different SHIPS on RTC. Each one can hold about 12 Divisions.
DIV is Division. The Division Number is the number for the Division your SR (Seaman Recruit) is in. Divisions have 88+ recruits to start with. They may lose some along the way due to illness or injury or other setbacks and gain some who are being recycled back into a Division. Most graduate with at least 75 + recruits.
Here is a PAGE on your PIR GROUP about SHIP/DIVISIONS ~~ What are they and how do they fill them? (clickable Link)
PAGES is located underneath the Members Pictures on this PIR GROUP in the Middle Column.
