Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

The Honor Recruits for each division will be holding the numbered Division signs in front of your section.  It is very easy to find.  You may also choose to sit in the balcony, but be careful that you aren't blocked in viewing the ceremony up there.  For those who arrive early to RTC, you will have time to check out different spots to sit in your section!

Isabel:  So your son is being held on RTC until he flies out later in the week?  I would email RTC from the RTC website about that ( "Contact" page).  But I know of a mom a long time ago whose sailor was also being held there until flying out towards mid-week.  They got the full weekend with him (Daytime only...had to return to base at night)....but no time with him after Sunday.  So I would assume that you will have Fri/Sat/Sun with your sailor but not sure you could see him after that.

I agree kenny902! Our SR is in DIV 051 and we STILL haven't gotten a call!!! Getting anxious.

Comment by kenny902 on January 8, 2014 at 4:43pm
My SR still hasn't called. His mother didn't receive a call saying he wouldn't be able to graduate. Also on FB someone said everyone in their division(53) passed. I guess what I am trying to say is what's taking so long??
