N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Received my call last night too- my son was soooo tired. He said he was very proud of how his Div (055) worked together in BS.  He said he loved the cap ceremony and said it was very motivational and emotional for him. He had several "bumps" in his road to even get into the Navy due to sports injuries/surgeries, etc so that moment will be one that he remembers for a long time. It took him over a year to get approved for military service- after being denied for the Academy and the Marines. My heart broke for him, so I know how those of you feel that have SRs that have hit bumps in the road at BC. Keep the faith- they have made a decision to do something that only a few can or want to do- they are strong and will get through it!

Prayers for all that have tests to pass and are going through BS21!   Also prayers for all traveling to PIR- take your time and drive safe! Icy here in Ohio still, and I don't see that getting too much better until tomorrow.

Also, a HUGE thanks to everyone that runs this site and all the members...it really does help to have everyone to bounce worries and celebrations off!

It warms my heart to have all of you. I can't thank you enough for the words of encouragements. To answer some of your questions. I believe the 900 group had BS and you all should be getting calls today. My son told me he will not be able to call me agian until he pass his swim test, which he will take again before graduation. The call was scripted and he did not get to say much of anything other than what was on the paper he was reading from. So yes, he will get to retake the test. I just feel so bad for him because i know he's worked his tail off trying to past this test. So moms keep your phones near because you will be hearing from your Sailors today! Congrats to the New Sailors and Good Luck to the Sailors to be! I'm praying for you ALL.

I have a division 51 sailor.....the news was a good end to an otherwise stressful day.

You can also get the airlines family passes to visit with your sailors until departure when you go to the airports early on the morning they depart.  Take ID!

Seems to be some confusion on what divisions are going through tonight.  We are not supposed to post yet, not until they are done.  But seems there are 5 left to go through, so that definitely means someone will be going on Wed night.  That is not what they normally do, but they may have gotten delayed from the weather, etc.  They usually do not run more than 4 divisions a night.  So I guess tomorrow, we will see which ones call!

Yes, that means some will be calling on Thurs.  No worries...if they didn't pass, they will go again and pass, even if the night before PIR (in that case, very tired sailors in the balcony, but SAILORS!  Sometimes they even manage to still march even after being up all night).  Lets hope that all pass the first time!

For those who find they will have sailors calling on the day they will be flying with phones off, be sure to change your voicemail to greet your new sailors and ask that they leave many messages!

Were those the only divisions who have gone through so far?

Congrats to the new sailors of 051-056!

alice:  If your son is going to stay in GL for A School, ask that on the GL A School group.  I know they have to pay for internet, but not sure of the procedure.

Proudmomjesus: Yes, any family members/friends of the Sailors graduating on Friday can go to the MeetandGreets.  They are just to socialize, but at Sarge's, he will give you lots of info.  Children are welcome!

Mustang:  SO very sorry...hoping that with help in FIT, he will get it passed soon, on to BattleStations, and then straight to A School.  So sorry he is missing having a PIR, but hoping he is a sailor soon!
