N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

That is tough if calls come on Thursday since my son's father is driving from North Carolina and a call that late, he would be well into the trip.

I believe that's how it's going to be, he only said the 8th, and that it was going to be long but I'm hoping to receive a letter today hopefully he will explain more in detail. 060 059 are brother divisions right, I wish them the best. I will be flying to chicago on Thursday morning so I hope I get a call soon

I was told that they would go on the 8th..so calls on the 9th i assumed..maybe they will go tonight and the calls will be on the 8th!!
Comment by bisbee73 on January 7, 2014 at 6:54pm

Does after Wednesday mean Thursday?  Because I'll already be in flight and there won't be any turning back.  Not that I expect bad news but anything can happen.

I thought 59 anf 60 would be calling after wednesday..has this changed?? I woyod love an earlier call for sure!
Comment by bisbee73 on January 7, 2014 at 6:49pm

So, I guess Divisions 59 and 60 are going to start tonight??  Hopefully, by this time tomorrow we will be getting calls.  I hate waiting.  Those of you who are going to the airport to have a little extra time with your sailors - have you made arrangements with Sarge to get you there or do you have your own cars?  What time do you plan to be at the airport?

Comment by Proud mom of 2 sailors on January 7, 2014 at 6:46pm
F L mom, our son's must be in the same division. Are you going to Sarge's meet and greet? Hope to meet you there.
