N4M's Community Guidelines and OPSEC

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Div 056, I just received a phone call from my son!   PIR in 3 days!  Official count down begins.  We talked about swimming and running tests, but he couldn’t say much at all about Battle Stations, except  he’s tired.

He had his flight number for Saturday’s trip.  He informed me that we can get a Family Pass through  the airline by calling the 1-800# or by going online.  We’ll get to spend an additional 3-4 hours with him at the airport before his departure at 8am.  He said once at the airport we can give him his cell-phone and laptop.  He won’t have anything to carry these items in, so be sure to bring him a laptop bag if you are bringing items to your Sailor.

Last night the wind chill was -43° and snow piled up to 8 feet high.  What a sight this is for my  Texas boy.  My son also mentioned the possibility of our flights being cancelled and family not being there for PIR.  Prayers are being said for clear weather.  So far the forcast looks good for family who is coming in from Texas, Oklahoma,  New Mexico and Missouri.  We ended the call with an “I love you and I WILL see you Friday morning”!

I wish everyone safe travels to PIR!!  Feeling super excited and very proud… I can’t wait to hug my Sailor!!

Got the call! He is a Sailor! He is also flying out at 8am. He mentioned we need to get a family pass to go to the gate with him. Anyone know where and how to get that?

Thanks for the info Proudmomjesus, I couldn't remember what day they were testing.  If they test tomorrow, I wonder if they call the same day or if it will be Thursday?  They will do great! I just know it! Cant wait!

Just finished a 45 minute call from my SR. They got liberty at the NEX for a few hours. Taco Bell for my SR. So excited. Found out he flies out at 8am Saturday. Not much airport time, though. Come on PIR!!!!!

Last time I heard from my son was 12/25 division 060. He said that they would be taking there test. On the 8th tomorrow. And from there he would call to let me know if he passed or failed and depending in that they would graduate on the 10th. Test is so close to graduation date, I'm hoping that if I do receive a call is to tell me he's a sailor.. Ugh hate waiting thinking the worst
