~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

We are back from PIR and it was wonderful! I was so grateful to be prepared logistically, so that we could truly enjoy the time together, with absolutely no stress! All the divisions did such a great job and we were very proud of every one of them!
One step in the journey is complete! Blessings to you all and thank you so much for your support. :)
Hi Friends!
"Serve wholeheartedly as if you were
serving the Lord, not men."
Ephesians 6:7
Okay home, it was so fast, but I am so PROUD of them all!! OMG I am most proud they survived that arctic weather, LOL The RDC's in my son's division were awesome. We went to O'hare on Saturday and said our goodbyes, this time I wasn't in a hospital bed. Sailor is in VA for school and is enjoying the warmer weather. PoodleLady said it best....It is so hard to not cry every time I walk by his room or look at his Navy picture. My little boy is all grown up and out in the world. His adventure awaits him. I am so proud of them all! Hooyah Navy, Div 064 and PIR 01/17/14!! PS: I am sooo grateful that NO ONE was killed in that horrible wreck on 65 Saturday, we were stuck in traffic behind it and I am so amazed that there were only minor injuries (that is what we heard).
Just arrived back home to TX. We met our sailor at O'Hare yesterday and spent several hours with him. Then it was off to drive in the blizzard. Stressful driving for most of the day. Drove the rest of the trip in today. I hated that we couldn't make the meet and greet. I was too sick to go. Decided I better stay in the hotel, rest up for the PIR and not infect anyone at the meet and greet. Feel bad that I didn't get to meet any of you!
I think everyone had a great time seeing their kids graduate. It was a wonderful experience. Oh!! I did have a couple ladies talking behind me at the PIR. They were jealous that I had a ribbon for me son! LOL Loved seeing all the door decorations too!! This group really taught me a lot and prepared me for this great experience!!!
Glorious Day!
"And you also were included in Christ when you heard the Word of Truth,
the Gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in Him
with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing
our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession--
to the praise of His glory."
Ephesians 1:13-14
Sailormom_913 . . .right after I posted my response last night, my Sailor FaceTime me. She was so excited over everything so far at A School! She showed me her dorm room, was excited about her roommate, told me how nice everyone had been so far . . . she looked so happy and life appears good for now! I miss her but it's a good miss knowing she's excited and looking forward to this new experience! No more tears for me . . .for now!
It was so worth leaving the Lodge at midnight to meet them at the airport so I could give her the cell phone and iPad! Being able to communicate is worth everything!
PoodleLady,
I was at Midway at 2am this morning as well with my Sailor flying out to San Antonio!!!
PoodleLady,
PIR was unforgettable, wasn't it?? Now onward to the rest of their Navy journey. (((HUGS))) from one Navy mom to another~~
