Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

proudnavymomof1,

If it's been more than a couple of weeks since your SR arrived, you can call his recruiter to see if he/she has the address~~

           SR   Last Name,   First Name

           Ship ___,  Division ____

           Street Address

           Great Lakes,  IL  60088

During Boot Camp, they are all addressed as SR Seaman Recruit even if they are actually higher in their rate.

susanninmd:  If you ask your SR to send you the last names of these SRs, you can post on here that you have names for people to write to of SRs not receiving mail.  Ask them to private message you for the name/address since we can't post that on the public pages.  They will really appreciate it.

proudnavymomof1:  Check with the recruiter too to see what address he/she has for your SR.  Could the form letter have been sent to someone else?  They only mail out one.  But believe it or not, sometimes it can take up to 2-3 weeks to receive it.

it's under families-contact your recruit

proudnavymomof1-if you actually spoke with your son and HE told you that he was in ship 66 (did he maybe actually say Div 66??), then it will be easy to find his address: he is in Ship 09 Div 066. go to the link that diannep posted below for navy.mil and you can find the correct address for his ship/div ;)

happy hunting...

Hello All,

I just need to know where to send his mail.  How to address his letter?  Isn't it weird I never got the form letter?

Comment by susaninmd on December 11, 2013 at 2:25pm

Do you need the street address ,

Comment by proudnavymomof1 on December 11, 2013 at 2:06pm

I want to write my son, but I never got the first form letter with the address... anyone know how I can get it?

Comment by susaninmd on December 11, 2013 at 2:03pm

my sr also mentioned that there are a few guys that have not received any mail. How can we help . If its a matter of families not writing sending phone cards,or money then I can help but if its snail mail its out of our control.  They really look forward to getting mail. Its a moral booster. Can we send xmas gifts and what kind ?
