OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

daniellem:  SO very normal for the SRs to feel this way right now.  Keep praying, writing, and encouraging and by PIR Day, you will be so very proud of all he has accomplished!  He will get through this and others around him feel this way...they will comfort each other.  The letters are so very important to them, so please write often and get friends/family members to write also!

My husband is homesick as well He has been away from home before but never away from me and our daughter this long. We know this is whats best for our family and that is what keeps us going every day. I write him often not only for me but because he asked me to. I try to send pictures as much as possible too!

I have also been doing the letters.  He did say that is all he has and is the highlight of his day.  He said it is so great to hear his name called for mail.  I will keep up the letters and pictures and prayer!!  Thanks for you input :)

Daniellem, my husband sounded the same way. He's 26, and this is the longest he and I have been apart in 7 years (not to mention he's away from his 8 month old baby) so I totally understand how he feels, I feel it too! I don't know what to suggest other than positive and motivating letters. I send a ton of pictures each letter as well to try and help and remind him that ill see him in now 39 days and how proud I am of him and this move he's made for our family.

Good Morning.  I also got to talk to my son over the weekend in Div 805.  He was very very homesick and didn't sound good at all.  I felt horrible and still do.  Any suggests or any other SR feeling this way?  He is only 18 and never away from home.  He said physically he is fine and keeping up but mentally he is struggling.  I'm so worried about him and just pray that his homesick will get better.

Good morning everyone! After talking with my son, and reading all your posts this weekend, I just wanted you all to know that I am praying for each of your SR's and for you as well! One day at a time - and 38 days to go!! :)

Good morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend and those blue candles are all lit for our SR's! I am praying for all who are still waiting to hear their SR's voice! I heard mine on Sunday and she said all is going well and that they are receiving and sending letters now! She sounded great and said they are very well taken care of! Had some testing last week and glad that's over and done with! I just thought my info might be a comfort to all especially those still waiting-we are so lucky to have each other and as someone said earlier: WE CAN DO THIS LADIES!!!
Is there anyone in 910 division from Indiana?

Thanks everyone! Makes me feel better to know that the guys called and Nadia since you haven't received a call from your daughter, that does help also. SailorsWife0721, that makes sense. Hopefully we will get one soon,  and good to know about the letters. As usual, I feel some better now!  Thanks again.

Maybe the boys from 062 called Saturday and the girls will call next Saturday! The good news is, my husband said he's sending out letters this week and said he should start receiving the ones I've sent
