OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

"No news is good news!" All must be well! I'm sadden that I did not receive a phone call from my SR this weekend, but truly glad for those of you that did! Thank you all for sharing information you gained from your SRs that called. It is comforting to hear, even though it is second hand, how things are going. You are all a wonderful support group . . . Thank you for that! This week I will continue to keep phone near by and will be checking the mailbox with hope! Good night all. . . 9:30 pm here and 5:00 am comes early!

My son is in div 065 and is one of those recovering from being sick. He says he is carrying on the family tradition of military service since my husband and I are retired from the Air Force. It was his decision to join and we kind if know what he is going thru. He did sound very confident about what has been happening and taking it day by day. Looking forward to seeing him at PIR. Talk learning the Navy terminology.

Hi guys! My husband scheduled for this date! I thought I'd introduce us. We've been married 5 years in January. Our beautiful daughter turns 1 in 12 days. My husband joined to help provide a better future for us and to get help with his education. I'm so happy to have found a group to belong to. We are the first in both our families to be in any branch of the military, so it's nice to be able to talk to other people in similar situations.

We heard from him yesterday as well! He is in div 065 as well, I have seen some of you with loved ones in that div. He said a lot of the div is sick right now. I can't wait to get to know you guys over the next 40 days while we wait until our loved ones are out of boot camp!

I just got off the phone with my son from div 910!!! He is fine getting over the cold lots of people seem to be getting. Sounded good...working hard...weather has been cold but bearable...we are in San Diego...really cold to us is 50-60 degrees! Thank God I have kept the phone glued to me all day...so very relieved! I hope everyone gets a call today. He said he would try and call next week too!

I hope everyone gets a phone call! I for one was getting worried and needed to hear her voice! Praying real hard that you all get calls if you've not gotten one yet! I asked her about being out in the weather because it's been so darn cold up there and she said they don't have to go outside that it's pretty much self contained! Nice to know for those of us worrying about that very thing! More later gotta go have some happy tears!
