OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ugh!!  I STILL have not received my daughter's box yet and she left 11/20.  It sounds like everyone else on here whose child left on or around that date has received their boxes, even those in Texas.  I am hopeful I'll receive it today but if not, has anyone else never received their child's box?  A lot of my daughter's valuables are in there!  What can we do...contact FedEx?  How can we do that without a tracking number?  And no letter either!

@brandonsmom, if he left on the 19th also, you should be fine sending mail to Div 059! Looks like our kids are in the same group!

@obnoxred1- he left on the 19th.  We received his letter on Wednesday, the box on Monday.  I'm going to send my letters to 059 and hope for the best!

@brandonsmom, pretty sure it's a typo! I don't think they are even up to Div 095 yet- did he leave for bootcamp the 19th or 20th?

@BeeBee and @zachsmom, It's good to chat with moms whose recruits are with my son. Even though we don't know each other (yet), it's very comforting to make contact. I've been wondering if they are grouped together with those that are going on to the same A schools or jobs. Do you know where your sons are headed after BC?

@melme251 and @obnoxred1- my letter arrived a couple of days ago and if I go by the return address, he is also in ship 03 div 059.  But if I go by the address he wrote in on his form letter, he's in division 095.  :)  I'm going to assume since the div's seem to go in numerical order it appears they wouldn't be up to 095 yet, so I'm going to send him letters to 059.  Does anyone know if he will get the letters if they are sent to the wrong division? I don't want to draw too much attention to his error...

@greenmagician- the RTC says that's a no-no and if a recruit is caught , he can get in trouble. It sucks, but that's what the 'official' word is.... I guess it's a security issue. I know how you feel, though. We had to change who was planning on going when the rule about active duty/retired guests changed.

Still trying to figure out how to get about 2 more people in at PIR.  I know that he can only have 4 on the list.  We have family right there in Evanston....right down the road and they would love to be able to experience it as well.  Do you know if other recruits will put names on their list if they have open slots?
