~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Thanks so much for the help diannep, your are awesome and thanks so much Tysmom for the order.
You're welcome, Tysmom!
VicPat: There is no A School at RTC...only bootcamp. I am hoping that TSC GL Public Affairs Office will answer my question about that---which is: What about sailors who are not attending GL A School, but flying out to A School over the weekend....are they allowed to visit their family if they are staying at Gateway. I know...complicated. But hoping it is all sorted out soon. I know one thing my son wanted to do after PIR is to take a long hot shower by himself (after so long in assembly line showers with shipmates!) and just rest in the room. So it would be a shame if some sailors could not do this.
Is your sailor attending GL A School? If so, sounds like no issues for you all as long as he gets the deviation chit when going through indoc which happens when he transfers over there shortly after PIR. But for the others, we just don't know yet.
Thanks for trying so hard to get the right info. Gateway Inn is not mentioned too often on this site....but when it is, we keep getting conflicting info. I tried to call Gateway directly, but they didn't know. Only told me you could only stay there with military ID. Sigh....hope to clear this up soon ! Thanks for your help....and for your service to our country! :-)
Got the ribbons ordered..thanks so much for the help!
SouthCarolina: Thanks!
Tysmom: Not too late to get the ribbons! Please go to Lala Ribbon Queen's page....she posted 5 below yours so you can get to her page from there. You can friend request her from there, or go to her website listed on there. She makes beautiful ribbons and gets them to you quickly!
Good Morning All!
zaksmom & drewsmom - I usually get my letters on Fridays so I am double excited after reading what your SR s are saying. I am so proud of our division for pulling it together!!!
Good morning,
Can't believe we are 2 weeks away. Just catching up on things to get ready to go to Great Lakes with...completely forgot about the ribbons - can anyone let me know how to get them or if its too late to get them in time for a 1/18 PIR? Thanks for your help!!
Very encouraging that those SRs passed their 2nd PFA! That will motivate them to pass the 3rd and final one, which all have to pass no matter what they did the first two times!
It's nice to the see such positive changes in their tones, right? That is usually what happens in the 4th week of training, which is where they would have been when they wrote those letters...BattleStations for this group will start next week for some of the divisions, continuing during PIR week. If anyone has received dates for their divisions from their SRs, please friend request them to me. We can't post them here on N4Moms, but we can private message them. I will be keeping a schedule of them.
Here is the link for BattleStations so you can see what they will be doing!

zaksmom- my son also failed the first PFA but passed the second. He has been very positive in his letters!I am so excited to see how much he has changed. I loved the child that left but being Navy myself I am very proud to see the man he has become!
Zaksmom, hadn't heard about Marlinspike, wow that group is really something! I'm sure our boys and Txdylansmom are leading the pack :D OK, pride goeth before a fall, I'll just THINK stuff like that :)
