~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good afternoon, everyone!
I've been spending well needed time with the family this last week. My youngest daughter is home from college for a few weeks (she attends Univ. of NM and we live in MD) so we have been shopping, visiting relatives and just catching up. We also had our oldest daughter and our grandchildren here for a couple of days. Next week my middle daughter will be in town from CO. :)
My sailor (our youngest of our 5) spent his Christmas time in Dubai! He is on the only aircraft carrier which is currently deployed. He said that he has a blast, while there. So far, since his deployment began in August, he has had port calls in Malaysia, Thailand and Dubai (United Arab Emirates). He has ridden two elephants and a camel, snorkeled in Thailand and been on a sunrise safari. He said that the coolest thing was that he got to hold a falcon. Although I missed him terribly, as this is his first Christmas away from home, I am so happy that his port calls have been very welcomed and a lot of fun for them. These are just some of the cool things that your soon-to-be sailors will be doing once their boot camp and training are over. Of course they obviously work very hard while on deployment, but it's so good to know that they are able to have some time to relax, enjoy themselves and make some once in a lifetime memories as well. :)
Zaksmom- When you got your letter yesterday he mentioned they were starting "hell" week... was that as of the date of his letter? or is it actually this week?
Yay Txdylansmom!! Glad to know our boys got to write, hope mine makes it to the West coast today! PS, sending you a message!
MeetandGreet info up above in discussions....and also to the right of this page.
Good Morning Ladies!
Consider going to Sarge's MeetandGreet....he or his team even picks up from the hotels (most of them) to take you to the MeetandGreet. He will have lots of info for you. It is not far from most of the hotels. In fact, not very far from Ramada! So think about it! The PIR 12/28 group posted great reviews today on his MeetandGreet last night.
got a letter today!!!!
Got a couple of letters from my SR today too! At times she sounded down & others up. She's been sick as she said a lot of the girls seem to be. But she didn't seem to have whatever they had. Said they have been getting IT'd since 1-1. She's tired of the yelling and of the group "not getting it". She said they seem to be slow learners. She's bound and determined to get through it though. Said that both divisions (hers & brother) have lost a few people.
She's made some friends. Yay. That always seems to help tough times easier, huh? We are all counting down the days.
floridagirl & locogirl- we are staying at the Quality Inn also! We will probably be going to the Ramada M&G though. It's only a mile from there. So cool! I'm getting excited!
Brit, I have you both in my thoughts and prayers. I hope he gets a clean bill of health. hopefully the high blood pressure was only a side effect from being sick.
zacherysmom: They normally fly out the day after PIR. They are bussed to the airports in the wee hours to wait for flights. Yes, you can meet them there. Then you can give them their cells, laptops, etc. He will be bussed at 2 a.m. but his flight won't leave until later. Usually the earliest flights leave around 6 or 6:30 a.m. and then continue throughout the day. I always recommend that you all try to get some sleep for a few hours after you drop him off at RTC, and then head to the airport. Some like to be there when the busses arrive. You can get an airlines gate pass with him and that will allow you to wait at the gate with him until his plane leaves. Don't forget ID!
Brit: Go on the NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS theory. If they were separating him, you would get a call. So lets hope this is a good sign! I agree with Lola that he could have been nervous when he went to Medical. We all know how quickly blood pressure can rise when nervous! Let's pray all is ok!
Lola: Thank you! I hope that's all it is! I know that's still not good but I do not want that to effect him
