OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I got letters today! And my SR told me he went to medical because he was sick, he regrets going now he said, but they told him he had high blood pressure and that they wanted him to go back 3 times 2 times a day! He wrote this on Sunday so it has already been the 3 days, should I be worried, what will happen if he has high blood pressure still?

Does anyone know when they typically leave for A-School?  Do you go to the airport?  He is going to a-school in Pensacola, FL and we were told that he might leave at 2:00 am Saturday.  I think if I understand things correctly, he will go back to camp Friday evening and then will go to the airport.

locogirlp:  See if Sarge's group can pick you up at the train station....they should be able to get you to the MeetandGreet as well.  Text or call him:

I will be coming in on Thursday evening and staying at the Quality Inn as well...I do not know anything about the sarges meet, what is that?

Comment by locogirlp on December 27, 2012 at 2:17pm

Hello everyone!  Anyone else staying at the Quality Inn at 619 S Green Bay Rd in Waukegan for PIR?  I'm coming in on Thursday around 4 pm from the Great Lakes Metra station and hope to figure out how to use the bus/taxi system to get to my hotel, drop my bags, and freshen up to get to Sarge's Meet at the Sundance.  If anyone is doing the same thing send me a message!

Sigh....Lala....another reason not to borrow other people's phones!  Although they say that the toilet bowl (when flushed!) is cleaner than lots of other things...just sounds pretty gross to me!  :-)

Good Morning All!

I can't even count how many time my Sailor dropped her phone in the toilet. The worst time was when we were on our way to FL for vacation to a small town in the Gulf call Apalachicola, there was no Verizon store there and no where to stop on the way as we traveled at night. Needless to say that was a very long two week vacation for her and I let her use my phone. I had teenagers calling me for months thinking it was her lol.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday, We had our Sailors home and 21 other family members at our home for Christmas dinner and Crazy Santa. It was loads of fun :) Already looking forward to next year when we will add to the family members here with our new grand baby due in early August :)

Comment by beewoman on December 26, 2012 at 7:44pm

As I have read many didn't get phone calls yesterday. I myself did not get one. I carried my phone with me everywhere as if it was my life line. I think considering it is "hell" week that interfers with the phone calls. Just think a couple more weeks and hopefully many will be getting phone calls in regards to WE ARE SAILORS! Prayers continue to go out for all families and sailors!!
