~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

068 is on the phone!!!!!! we a SAILOR!!!!
Enjoy the MeetandGreets tonight. Remember, Sarge's will have the most helpful info for you for this weekend! :-)
Good Morning All! Safe travel today. Looking for those I'm a Sailor calls from 067/068 this afternoon! If flying today, change your cell voicemail to greet your new sailor in case you are in the air with phone off when the call comes!
FTLW: She was already "on the road" and didn't mention having these. Hoping it all works out for them!
I hope so too BTsmom, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
We are on the countdown to snow lol, raining for 4 days and unseasonably warm temps, now flooding near the rivers and streams and cooler temps. Tomorrow much colder and snow moving in by afternoon; 4 to 8 inches of snow expected. Now I really want to come see you Diannep :)
PAO=Public Affairs Office They should be open in the morning. 847 688 2405
Hoping all works out ok!
I homeschool so the only school ID they have is the one I make for them. I just made another one and will have to have one of the hotels print it out for me. It's the only ID my kids have. Hope it's good enough. I think I will call the PAO anyway. what does that stand for again?
I am so excited for all of you and I know you are super excited :)
Sorry I have been MIA for a couple of Days. Our internet company did an upgrade to make our internet "better." Well I don't know if it is better, but after two days of being offline, suffering from withdrawal from being away from this site and facebook for too long, and a repair man making not one but two trips to our house and two new modems I am at least back online :) YAY!!!
BTsmom, mmmmm, oh dear, possibly/probably.
From the RTC page.
Guests 17 years or younger who do not possess one the items listed above must present one of the following: school ID card, driver’s permit, copy of their birth certificate or social security card.
I would definitely call the PAO tomorrow 847-688-2405 and ask what you can do. Perhaps they would take a photocopy of the school ID? If that is possible maybe the school can fax or email you a copy tomorrow. If there is someone "at home" that can access that stuff, maybe they can fax or email you a copy of their birth certificate?
Fingers crossed for you.
