N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Got a call from my daughter a little while ago!  She was disappointed I hadn't gotten her letter yet from Sunday, so must take awhile to get through.  Hopefully it will be in today's mailbox when I get home....

@SouthCarolinaProud - she will call again!  I'm praying that it will sometime today to put your mind at ease :)

OMG moms someone make me feel better pleaser I just missed my daughters phone call I am at work and my supervisor lets me keep my phone out but the day shift one won't and he was still here at the time she called and I had my phone in my bag. My daughter was crying cause I wouldn't answer the phone. OMG I feel soooo bad right now I'm crying. :(

No letter or phone call yet from our SR :(       There is always tomorrow :)

I sent off 90 Christmas cards to Ship 13 Div 067 from the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders of my school. The kids were so excited to do it and there are a lot of really thoughtful and cute cards.

Everyone hang in there.  Soon and very soon we will hear from our SR's.   35 days and counting until we get to hug their necks!

For those who have not seen Lala's PIR ribbons, click on here icon or username 9 posts below this one and take a look at her page!  They are beautiful, affordable, and she gets them to you quickly, even sending last-minute orders to your hotel! You can contact her from her page if you are interested in ordering them!

Comment by diannep on December 13, 2012 at 2:28pm

Great idea, Lzbrg22, to send the phone card.  They can purchase them at the NEX, but can't go there anytime they want to...so it is nice to tuck one into your next letter!  Remember, connecting to the payphones eats up alot of their minutes, as does calling more than one person.  So get one with at least 250 - 500 minutes on it if you can.

Ladies, a reminder.  If you miss your SR's call, and he/she just called you when you noticed the missed call, do not call them back at that number.  They will get in trouble if you do that.  Sorry....but if you missed the call....pray hard that they call again !

Above is the link to the "official word" on number of guests for PIR.  4 is correct for this PIR group.
