N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Excited, daughter-in-law got letter yesterday. My son is doing well, he is the Guide On and hopes to be for graduation. He has passed the tests and moving forward. I hope to get my own letter soon but if not still great to know what's going on. They are only allowed to write on Sundays. He says the letters help,so time to send off another:) Not even sure he got my first one, but I know he has received hers. Think I'll send a phone card for future use too!

Yayy!!! Got a letter last night. She really sounded pretty stable. A little scattered in what she was telling us about but good! So proud of her!

Does anyone know how many people get to come to the ceremony for ship 13 div 068 the form letter had 4 names but his first letter he wrote sounded like he only had room for 3 but he wasn't really clear on it.  I need to know please

Wooo Whoooo just booked our flight for Graduation!!!  If you haven't booked your flights yet -- check to see if Spirit Airlines flys out of your airport... we got 2 round trip nonstop tickets for $350.

It would be soooo cool! But I know it might not happen... It isn't the norm, so I am not getting my hopes up (too much anyway!). Oh, and I got the returned box situation worked out... The ditty room is who deals with that... They will get her and have her resend it.... Wonder if she'll get grief for it.

That would be awesome, a little unusual but still very awesome. I know going up there twice for most families is just not affordable but those who don't have family who can come or live close by will usually get adopted by different organizations and churches and will hopefully get to make phone calls to their families :) Now lets just hope they this information some are receiving is true.

good morning navymoms! Here's hoping for letters today!

Comment by diannep on December 13, 2012 at 9:54am

Wow, that would be great if they are including other PIR groups for Christmas adoption this year.  If they send you the form, that would be great!  It is usually just the first two most senior groups (12/28 and 01/04).  There is a 01/11 group too, but they haven't mention adoption for Christmas on there.  Fingers crossed!

Good Morning All!
