~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

62 is supposedly calling now

Comment by ellen0502 on January 15, 2013 at 3:45pm

The week before my sons PIR there were six that were removed from his division and brother division and sent to FIT for failing the final run and floating portion. They had all called home and said they would probably not be graduating. This was upsetting to all involved, not only those leaving but those watching them leave.

The Monday before PIR and the day of BS those in the ship heard the RDCs yelling "Hustle up. You got two hours to get your stuff stowed." Those in the ship had no idea what was going on, and then in walked all six of them, they had all passed their final tests (a couple of them just that morning) and were there to participate in BS that night. There was quite the celebration when they walked in. Not one of them was able to call and say they had passed before they did BS that night. Needless so say there were some very surprised people on the other end of the phone the next day when the I am a sailor calls came in.

Everything is being done for them right now that can possibly be done to make sure they pass their final tests. The RDCs really do care that all make it through this, and will give them all the help they need every opportunity available to pass.

Saying a prayer for all of you. "No news is good news" and finger crossed too..

Comment by diannep on January 15, 2013 at 3:22pm

zaksmom:  Not sure what time they would do the PFA, or even what day.  I know the NO NEWS is killing you!  But try to go on that as "good news" at this point!  Wings on his feet!

Comment by diannep on January 15, 2013 at 3:13pm

I'm a Sailor calls could start in the next hour or so.  Phones handy!  We think that possibly 061-064 went through last night?  Time will tell!

Comment by zacharys_mom on January 15, 2013 at 2:50pm

Deserrai praying for your SR (and you).

Comment by diannep on January 15, 2013 at 2:39pm

So sorry, deserrai:  There were BattleStations last night, so hoping she will call you this afternoon.  Sometimes the people who answer the PAO phones are helpful, sometimes not.  Did he even look up her status, or did he tell you right away that he couldn't do it?  Hoping that you get some info soon!

Comment by deserrai on January 15, 2013 at 12:50pm

Well, I got someone on the phone. He said he can't divulge her status and to standby. Not much help, but pretty much what I was doing anyway.

Comment by deserrai on January 15, 2013 at 11:53am

I'm not canceling anything until Thursday morning because that is when my flight is. I'm holding out hope that she will pass. I'm fairly confident she did not pass yesterday because when she called Friday she specifically said she would call Monday if she passed. I tried to call that number and got a mailbox is full message. I will try again later. Thank  you for the information.
