~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Maybe things have changed recently??? But as far as we have been able to tell, even if you know the rate it doesn't necessarily mean that all for that rate will fly out on the same flight. When my daughter flew out she was on a chartered flight with 170 other Sailors all going to Pensacola. But there were other flights later that day that also went to Pensacola and two of my daughter's friends that were also AO's were on different flights from her. From what I can tell the orders come through by division. The first division formed is also the first to go through battle stations and the first to get their orders and since they fly usually on commercial flights there will different number of seats available for each flight. When the next divisions finish then they get their orders. Well unless it has changed and I am WAY off lol. Things change all the time.

Ladies, please be asking your SRs if they know they division's BattleStations date and friend request/private message that to me.  I keep a schedule.  We cannot post the dates here on the site, but can private message them.  Thanks!

MYSAILORSCOOP:  My son was a YN too going to Meridian.  He flew out the morning after PIR.  Doesn't mean anything though.  If they can't get the flights on Saturday, they will go on Sunday.

Good Morning!

LovelyNavyLady a few weeks ago my husband mentioned that he'd be flying out on Sunday but we figured it was too early for him to know...His rate is YN going to Meridian,MS for A School...Im hoping he's one of the few leaving Sunday as he mentioned =0)

Comment by diannep on January 9, 2013 at 3:08pm

Allison:  On that day...you can't get them before the day of departure.

Will be interested to see if they allow the sailors to go home before A School, as you mentioned.  That never has happened before, other than those who graduated during Christmas break.  Some of them were able to take Leave before A School.  So keep us posted!

If they fly out it can be early in the morning hours but they usually start around 6 am and their flights can be pretty much anytime during the day. Try to meet your Sailor at the airport if at all possible. You will enjoy that extra time spent with them :)

Lovely Navy Lady:  You are welcome!  Things are constantly changing though so we are always looking for updated info.  We know to "never say never" in the Navy!  :-)
