~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

I am really struggling with how poorly our divisions 069 and 070 seem to be doing.  They seem to be getting constant IT day and night, no phone privileges, my daughter doesn't even get curtains on her toilet, that privilege is constantly revoked.  Her division had to stand all day Christmas......should I be worried that the whole division will not make PIR?

You guys are too cute!  :-)  Yep, sitting her barefoot in my house...in the high 70's/low 80's right now....hair frizzing because of the humidity....but it is nice!  Come on down!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on January 4, 2013 at 3:52pm

Thanks lhill125, you will have your shirt and ribbons very soon :)

Thanks diannep and I agree you really are awesome <3 Every morning when I sit working at my table and my toes are freezing I think about you in your nice warm southern FL and it makes me want to pack it all up and head your way lol.

Thx diannep!

Has anyone ever told you-you're awesome?!

Comment by diannep on January 4, 2013 at 3:02pm

MYSAILORSCOOP:  Yes, they meet with a "classifier" to go over their rates, etc.  Some may have to change rates (jobs) since theirs may have become "overmanned" now.

The dress for PIR will be mixed.  We always advise you to look nice since your sailors sure will!  The ribbons Lala makes have your division number on them....so if you order those from her,  that will identify you with your sailor (names are on there too, per your request).  I wore something like dana is planning to wear, was comfortable, and felt properly dressed!

I'm wearing dress slacks and a sweater along with my ribbon!

I am wearing my Proud Navy Grandma sweatshirt that I ordered from Lola along with the ribbon I ordered and my son-in-law and daughter will be wearing their ribbons too.

This may seem like a silly question.  What is everyone wearing to the graduation?  Are you making shirts to represent your SR or are you dressing up?  I was just wondering because I would like to wear something to support my SR but I want to look nice too.  I know, trivial stuff.

Just checking in.  Nothing new to report.  Received a few more letters and another phone call.  I can't wait, just 21 more days.  Not looking forward to the cold though.  Hope all is well with everyone.

Hello!

Received a couple letters yesterday so needless to say Im in great spirits today! He's doing well and talked about a bunkmate from Brooklyn that talks like him...lol

He also mentioned receiving a collar device for being section leader and something about getting his Navy Smart Card? and getting classified?
