~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hello all! I too am new to this group. My name is Carrie and I have a son who (we think) is Ship 14 Div 075. We seem to be having a bit of trouble getting an accurate address. His form letter said Ship 01 (with the physical address for Ship 14) but I don't think there is a ship 01? His recruiter says he is Ship 03 Div 075 but it appears that Div 075 should be Ship 14. The only thing we know for certain is that he is Div 075, lol.
raeleen, I'm sure that the $10 voucher is just a perk to get you back in the restaurant once you have your sailor with you, :)
Thanks, Diane...I'll make sure to sign up for the shuttle when we arrive!
Welcome to the group, Laura....and sure hope you feel better soon! :-)
raeleen: The $10 gift certificate at Flanigans for your sailor would be for you to come back and eat dinner after PIR. However.....Sarge has a friend who owns a restaurant in town that will feed your new sailor for free, I hear!
raeleen: There are no shuttles to the MeetnGreets unless you call Sarge...and you would want to go to his MeetandGreet in that case! He transports to his from most hotels. Is there a reason you want to go to Flanigans MeetandGreet rather than Sarge's? Sarges will have lots of info for you that you will greatly appreciate! I would consider Sarge's rather than Flanigans....Sarge's is just about 5 miles from Navy Lodge. He has great FREE food there too! :-)
Feel Better, Lala!
dana: We stayed at Residence too and signed up for the shuttle time when we checked in. So be sure to ask! We were on the 6:30 one and at PIR Hall just a few minutes past 7.
Hi everyone! I am new to this group! My Son Caleb, is Ship 14 Div 076 PIR 1/25/13. He left for boot camp Dec 4. Everything moved quickly! I got his box and form letter 3 days later! I am in the 5th day of influenza so will not be on here much, but I will be checking in again soon! Thank you to whoever started this group!
lhill82125, I will have your ribbons and sweat shirt finished and shipped ASAP. You will have them long before your PIR date :) Let me know if you have any other questions or if you need it sooner. Thanks so much for the order.
Thanks Betsy, I had a fever all night and am not feeling good at all. But I am loading up on vitamin C and some other stuff and hope to feel better soon. My hubby has it too and today is his birthday so not much fun for him either.
