Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Tracey, have you received your letter? If so there's a pamphlet with hotel information. I am looking at that this afternoon after a few meetings.

He is Ship14 Div 076. and he will heading to Nuke school after boot camp. is there any other families with the same destination for their loved ones. Or any families from Michigan?

As far as the MeetandGreets, we highly recommend you all attend SARGE's. This is because he is full of very helpful info for you for PIR and the weekend--he also has his own transportation service for those needing that (discounted for Navy families). We have heard back from many ladies who have attended this MeetandGreet with rave reviews.

All of the MeetandGreets are "kid friendly" even though his is held at the Sundown Saloon. Ramada's is held in the bar area. We just feel that Sarge's info will be of great benefit to you, including the fastest and easiest ways to get to PIR on that very busy morning.

Comment by Irene(ship03 div 076) on December 10, 2012 at 11:00pm: I had a very big scare today. When I got home from work my husband said our kid in a box came. He said it said it was left on the porch but he didn't see it. I was running around my yard which is a five acre pecan orchard looking for the box. You would have thought I had a lost child. Then I broke down a cried, looked in the field behind my house all in the dark. Finally got in my car and drove around to use the lights on my car to look again. Then I grabbed the fed ex paper to call and see if by chance the driver forgot to take it off the truck and saw that it was not even delivered that it was not the form I signed and that one was still stuck to the front door. How crazy is that but I am calm knowing my kid in a box is safe for the night.
