~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Ooops, ProudNavyMom> Can you delete your post below (just click on "x" in the box). We can't post the SRs' last names on this site. So sorry about that!
jdrs: Thanks! Got it. Prayers for them in their BattleStations!
At Diannep - sent you a message via friend request.
Hi ladies!! Hope yall are doing good today. It's only a little less than 3 days to go!! I can't wait to see my SR and give him a great big hug!! I plan on being at Sarge's and will be sure to make a donation to the bucket. It's so awesome what he does for the families. Got a letter from my son and he sounds great and is really looking foreward to PIR I think almost as much as me!! LOL He did tell me he got the ribbon for marksman and nailed his inspections. Their RPO earned them a Bravo-Zulu! He mentioned that he was a guidon. Not sure what that means tho. I've tried to find it but keep coming up blank! Diannep I will definately be keeping Brett in my prayers! I am so looking foreward to meeting yall Thursday night. I will also put my N4M name on my name tag under my name. Yall take care and be safe!!
That I don't know. Hopefully somone has an answer for you.
Diannep - sorry to have plowed over your post about Brett. Prayers for him and his family. What a tragedy, but I know God can bring blessings to them through this hard time.
Thx for the update BeeBee!! that's great information to know =0)
Have a great day!!
Picture update
The registers close at 3:30pm (the NEX is open till 8, the lab closes at 3:30pm)
If your sailor has paid for their pictures they will have them before PIR you do not need to wait in line.
If you are paying for them they can be shipped to you for $10 and you don't have to wait in line.
The form can be emailed to you or you can go in (don't have to wait in line) and pick one up. Or you could call them and ask them to email you the form if you want to send it in before graduation or just have it ready to go.
I believe there is something about the Keel is only available for order on graduation day so if you want one of those you'll need to do your order form before you leave.
The number to the lab is 847-578-6205
I know a lot of you have a precious few hours with your sailors hopefully this will save you some time.
...and remember that the lake wind goes right through you when you are walking (it should be warm in the PIR Hall other than maybe when they open the big doors to let in your sailors!). So layers is the way to go....a scarf to cover your face-- if necessary...comfortable walking shoes/boots are a must!

Brett actually had a day named in his honor in Jax. Link above.
Thanks so much, kimmie! He knows that he has had cushions of prayers from so many to see him through!
Wanted to add that he received a Medal of Honor from the city of Jacksonville and during that interview from his hospital bed, he took no credit for what he did. He looked humbled and said that he only did what he felt anyone else would do. And guess what? Now our governor is supposed to present him with an award this Thursday. Again, Brett will be humble...he truly feels that he is no different than anyone else! What a heart he has!
