Made our hotel reservations today...Yeahhh :)
I was wondering who was brother division of division 48, looks like that's another question answered..Thanks :)
You can make brother division discussions or discussions for each individual division...whatever you like!
I meant to say ship 3 div 47 below not ship 2
Judy,
I know there are males and females in ship 2 47. I saw another mom on here that has a daughter on ship 3/div 47 and I have a son. I don't know why they train with 48, diannep (see below) told me that division 48 is the brother (not meaning just males) trains with 47.
has anyone started a group for ship 3/division 047, perhaps even with ship 3/division 048 I heard they train together?
Good evening everyone!
I find myself rushing home from work just to read what everyone's been posting. Diannep, great info! Thank You!
I'm not sure about attending the Meet and Greet's yet. We are planning on driving up on the 26th. We're just over 10 hours away (weather permitting) and may be too tired to enjoy it. We may just turn in early and conserve energy for Friday.
David's A-school is closer to where we live, and I'm hoping to visit him there.
Sunshine: Every SR is allowed 4 guaranteed guests. There are no "tickets." The form letter will have these guests listed by your SR. They can update this list shortly before PIR. BUT having said that, we always say to take your extra people with you! They will get in. They may have to wait in the Visitors Center until the others are seated, but not always. So it is worth it to get them there. The worst that could happen is that they would spend the entire PIR in the Visitors Center, but we have not heard of that happening.
Tonya: My sailor was up there at this same time two years ago. His first PIR date was 1/29, but then he was asmoed for a week, so he PIRed the first week in Feb. Yes, because of the holidays, it makes for longer bootcamp. He had been there for 10.5 weeks by the time he PIRed. He was sure ready to get out of there!
As far as not planning anything for after PIR, we always recommend that you all be totally flexible. Let your sailor dictate the day. Some want to sightsee, some want to go to the mall, some want to eat at their special place, some want to go to your hotel room, take a long shower ALONE (without shipmates beside them), catch up on their laptop (that you bring), cellphone, etc. So it is best to just "hang loose." Sounds like he knows that he will be flying out the next day. Most do....they bus them to the airport in the wee hours to wait for flights. You will have PIR day with him until 8 or 9 pm. Then you can meet him at the airport the next day, get a gate pass, and wait with him until his flight leaves. So you will have that time. He may not tell you about the airport visits...we here on N4Moms know that it the way it works, but they don't tell them that at RTC. But just know that every week, many families are doing just that. Some go out there early so they can be there when the busses arrive with the sailors....others get some sleep and meet up with them later at the USOs at the airports.
Congrats on the future arrival of baby boy #3! YAH!
