FTLW, Oh my goodness, when it rains, it pours.  So sorry to hear about your pets health issues.  ((Hugs))

That's just awesome!  Woohoo!Congratulations on your sailor's accomplishment!

Well...I was vascillating on which video to use today...I am fighting a "humbug" mood as followed up my stomach thing with a small cold. Sons Horse has a bad case of hives (it is seasonal with her...fall/winter...last year she was REAL bad...scary) so giving her dex shots...and to top it off one of our dogs had to have exploratory surgery AGAIN for eating something he couldn't pass! He survived but I am not sure we will 'cuz y'all KNOW how much that costs$!. So, I was going to do "The Grinch" but I think I will wait on that for just plain 'ol fun and play something from my dear hubby's favorite movie, "Scrooge"(If you have not seen the Albert Finney musical version, try too! It is the best Christmas Carol one)...because,

GUESS WHAT? We have a Seabee! Hubby is flying out to see him graduate. He didn't get to go to PIR as he was in Iraq...and we can only afford one of us to go, so I thought it best for him to go. They have not seen each other in a year! It's been six months for me and his bros since PIR. (Again, sooooo thankful for those extra days of liberty!) I am so proud and thankful...so here it is because NOTHING can really steal our Joy!

Good Morning!

Can everyone please keep my husband in your prayers today?   He is flying into New Mexico today for work and my kids who live there, just told me that they have about 6 inches of snow on the ground right now.   I'm praying for a safe flight and arrival.  It's crazy, because at home in Maryland, our forecast is for 59 degrees today

hello everyone! my husband is in ship 2 div 910 :) PIR 1/27/12, does anyone know if i should be expecting more paperwork from my husband regarding the info for DEERS and to get my military ID? our local base said i have to wait for the DD form 1172, BUT i have only received the letter with the address and PIR date...will they automaticly send me the paperwork or do i need to request it in a letter to my husband? momma2many, What a wonderful family.   You are truly blessed.

diannep, that is funny.  I should try that one year too.  :)

SC NavyMom, the friends that you make here are wonderful blessings.  One thing that I have always said to my sailor (and still do say) is thank you for joining the Navy and giving me so many wonderful new friends.  My son graduated this time last year and there are about 15 moms, from his BC class, who still regularly keep in contact.  They have been my rocks!  It's so nice to keep up with all of our  "adopted" sailors as they finish their training and go out into the fleet.  Also, as you probably know already, only a Navy mom/gf/wife, etc. truly understands how you feel, even after BC.

Comment by diannep on December 5, 2011 at 12:01pm

You're official!  On the RTC site:

TG 10 - 07 Divisions (047-052, 910) graduate Friday, Jan 27, 2012

(TG stands for TRAINING GROUP)

momma2many:  You can add this to your PIR group title, unless FTLW does it first!  I'm not an administrator on here, so can't do it.

This is a relatively small group, which means lots of room for extras at PIR!

Comment by diannep on December 5, 2011 at 11:47am

They have their warm trenchcoats to wear over the cammies.

Comment by diannep on December 5, 2011 at 11:46am

Yes, momma2many.  They still do that.  They don't choose what they wear!  My son told me that "they made sure we were warm all of the time."  I can assure you that if my S. FL son had his shorts and tshirts with him, he would have gone out in the snow in those and would have froze to death...he is just in denial about cold weather!  :-)
