PatricksMom: I agree with NavyMom. If you didn't receive a call from him today, you should call The PAO tomorrow and ask them about that--didn't you already call them and they said he should call you today? When they are asmoed, they are supposed to call you right away. I got the call the day my son was moved, and then another one the day he moved back into another division with his new division info---both scripted calls with Navy personnel present.
Cari: The other mom going through this with PatricksMom is actually MSmom. They both have joined this PIR group from the same PIR group after their SRs were asmoed. My son was asmoed too...but over 2 yrs ago...so I know the feeling. I know it is so disappointing for the SRs and the moms at first...but having traveled this road myself, I know there is light and hope coming for them! Mine has now been a sailor for almost 2 yrs...I'm just a N4Moms veteran on here to help!
Your message was very kind! Thanks!
Thanks Navy Mom. I may do that if we don't receive a letter by week's end.
Patrick's Mom: Perhaps you might want to call RTC Public affairs office at 847-688-2405 and see if they can give you any info
Thanks so much CariD. 1/27 is the division he was set to graduate with, but it's looking now like it may be 2/10. Until we hear from him (hopefully via letter this week), we really don't know anything for sure.
To diannep and Patrick'smom, So sorry to hear about the set-back. I feel for both of you and your SR's. I wish them much luck and I hope their new divisions will embrace them. Hugs and Prayers to you both... Patrick's mom, Welcome to the 01/27/2011 community:) DianneP you will always be a part of this community and hopefully the next one as well:)
diannep, thank you so much for your positive and encouraging message. It helps immensely right now.
Welcome both PatricksMom and MSmom. You will be embraced here by these wonderful ladies...and lifted as your SRs get through this and onto PIR. Know that this happens to many...and they are going to get through it. A bump in the road...
You will see them in those handsome navy blue uniforms before you know it!
My heart goes out to you MSmom. I hope you hear from your son very soon.
My son was supposed to PIR 1/27, but we received a voicemail on Friday (while we were in California for my husband's mom's funeral), that he's been set back two weeks. We just returned home late last night, and I got the vmail this morning. We know nothing other than that, and the not knowing is terrible. I'm just praying he's physically okay. I'm sure no matter what the reason, he must be so disappointed not to be graduating with the SR's he's trained with since he's been there. My heart is just breaking for him, and while I can do nothing to help him at the moment, I can lift him in prayer. Very thankful to be able to do that.
