I think my SR knows I'd give her a backhand upside her head if she didn't call me. She did call her boyfriend too, but she made sure to call home. Sorry momma2many, he should've called his family for a couple minutes at least :( I would be sad too.
oh my goodness, I do not want to disparage my sr. I love him and miss his desperately But I have not received a call since the arrival call. And now-- i hear from one of my kids that he has been calling a girl he's been seeing. I would be happy with a one minute call and the rest for her... but NONE FOR ME? really? Or his dad? I'm seriously shocked. :( Rant over. But I'm genuinely saddened by this.
Marie, that brought tears to my eyes and brought back a flood of memories. When I got the first call I had been looking for that area code on my caller ID foe so long that when it finally was there I was somewhat in shock. I looked at my husband and said it's her and as the phone continued to ring and I just stared at he said :Well, don't ya think you answer it" OMG I almost missed it and it was in my hand. Another call closer to the end of bootcamp and I was shopping and waiting in line to pay when I saw where it was from I answered and headed to the door to talk outside, with my cart full of unpaid items lol. Luckily the store was very understanding. I will never forget those experiences as well as several others I have had since she joined the Navy :-) Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the information about the contacts, I really appreciate it!
"them" not "they." Sigh....
Yes, you can send the contacs. Even if you send them now, the RDCs will just make they put them away until PIR. Please make sure to send just a small amount of contac solution with them...no large bottles of that. The bubble envelope is a great suggestion, and write on the outside: Contacs/solution
Marie: I admire your family for their service! And you for having to be so strong as a mom of so many serving our great country!
anyone heard from 02/910, i was told only a selected number of SR's were able to call yesterday :( i know once person that got a call but trying to find more :) hope all has a great day
Woot go Broncos! That was an AWESOME game!!!
About the contacts: I read on the RTC facebook page (and asked the RTC) that we could send them, but only a week before graduation. Best to send it in a yellow bubble wrap envelope and mark that its for graduation. They will have to open it in from of the RDC's.
Ok, don't know if any of you are football fans, but I am a HUGE Bronco fan. Today's playoff game was AWESOME! Made me wish I had my SR here to watch it with me. My hubby is a Steelers fan and so is my younger daughter, my SR would've rooted for the Broncos with me :D On to playoffs number 2 next week!
I read on here a while back that we could send contact lenses to our SRs for PIR. Does anyone know if that is true and if so is there a certain way that you have to do it?
