Mindy I just finished them and they will be in the mail on Monday. A whole bunch for this PIR group will be mailed early this week. I had a lot of late orders for the two PIR's before this one and had to make sure they get them in time. There are also several who have added scarves to their orders so I am working on those as well. There is still time to order for this group if anyone missed out on placing an order earlier just let me know. You can send me a friend request on here and I will send you the info.
FTLW- I think my husband is like that. He could be a great cop or detective. He used to work in loss prevention and he spots shoplifters all the time. I'm like how did you know? lol he is very good at it but he won't be a cop because he said he would probably shoot first and ask questions later. NOT GOOD!!!! He once arrested Chucky Cheese in FL for shoplifting at Marshalls lol. And, his favorite thing to do is shark fishing, now that will get the adrenaline going for sure. He loves excitement :-)
I went to 2 swearing -in ceremonies and got to take out daughter to the hotel the night before she left for boot. After she checked in I picked her back up and took her to a nice dinner and then to grab some goodies for the flight. Of course the recruiter normally takes them to the hotel but she was the only one leaving that day and it was a two hour drive to Charlotte and I offered so he said it would be fine. There were quite a few parents at the swearing ceremony the next morning.
Comom 92-thank you :) very true lol to join in on the convo, me and my family attended my husbands swear in, VERY EMOTIONAL!
Yeah...Mindy I hear you!
The problem comes in when they are adrenaline junkies...like my hubby (He is a police officer and in the Security Forces for the AF) and sons (one son is a Seabee, the other wants tanks ...either Army or Marines...loves to shoot...youngest does Martial Arts)...most men are!
Where else do you get to drive tanks...dune buggies...Humvees...and "shoot 'til you puke"! The military can offer them so many opportunities that "civilian" life cannot. Travel, comraderie...most of all service to their country...they know the flip side to all the "fun" and take the risk. Someone has to do it and I want that someone to be "suited" for the job. I know my hubby can't be anything else than what he is...I fought it for a long time and regret it...lucky that he has stayed with me. Every day I am a mixture of incredible pride and WHY! LOL
It's very hard...my youngest is into Martial Arts and hubby took him to a match to watch another student fight (MMA). Guy got KO'd...I mean out. They didn't like the way he was responding when he came around and transported him to a hospital for observation. !!! He was okay but how many times can you go through that! I was like," Okay, you can train...but NO competition!" LOL Yeah...right!
Ok, Marie...I'm exhausted after reading all you went through! Wow....! I need a nap now... :-)
Josie,
My daughter is also ship 03 division 048. She called yesterday as well, but sadly I was @ the grocery store, but hubby & sister were able to talk to her. She said the same thing your son did. I agree I am so happy that the division is finally pulling together & yes just in time for battlestations soon.
NavyMom: Message Lala about the ribbons. She is great about getting them out quickly. There is still time!
Good morning all! Have a beautiful day!
Navy Mom there is still time to place your order. My turn around time is pretty quick and always on time for PIR. Just send me a friend request on here and I will send you the info. I am heading to the fabric store in a few for fleece to make the scarves. Lots of orders for those are coming in. So if I don't get back to you right away I will as soon as I get back this evening. Thanks so much :-)
Josie, I am glad you got to hear your sons voice . It must have made your day to know his division is doing so well.
I got a call yesterday too. My son is in Ship 03 Division 48. We got talk for about a half hour. He said they earned the call since their division has done a complete turn around. They have come together as a team. So that was great to hear especially with battlestations coming up.
