For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

If I chose to do it all myself would the reimburse me for it? That would be easier and make things a lot faster. Thank you so much for looking onto it!!

I just double checked all of this with my husband because when he first enlisted his rate was AECF, but I barely remember what we were told about it. Basically he confirmed what I was thinking. She will get to move there as soon as he arrives and files the necessary paperwork for housing. If housing is full, she may have to wait until something opens up or he finds a place off base. In the latter case, it may be helpful for her to look for places online since he will be busy with school. But just let her know that the general rule of thumb is that when a school is that long, there is no waiting period.

So, If I were you I would go ahead and be looking for some places and maybe if make some appointments and check some places out while you are there for PIR just in case base housing is full. Of course he will have to file the paperwork and get that started very quickly. And it is my understanding that things happen much faster if you don't have to wait on them to move you. That seems to take a lot longer than if you can do it yourself. i am not sure what they will pay for or reimburse you for. Good luck and I hope this info helps.

If they have not received an email from me now have them try again and let me know. I was away most of the day yesterday because my Sailor had just came home for our Late Christmas :-)
