God Bless you all, Laurie. I like your way of thinking and totally agree with you and what kathy posted below. I know you will give him a very long hug when he returns.
We will keep you and your son in our prayers. Apparently this was not the plan God has for him; but he will show him the chosen path. God Bless you and your family.
Well, this will be my last post. I just wanted to let you all know how helpful you have been throughout this whole process. I just received a phone call from my son and he is coming home. I will not go into too much detail but he did not accept the other job he was offered so he will be coming home and deciding where to go from here. I know God has a special plan for him. He was doing so well and passing all of his tests that he knows the military is the place for him. Now it is just deciding which branch to go into. Be blessed all and I really wish I could have met you all. I have a proud mom and proud sister ribbons with no names on them if anyone would like them. Let me know on here and I will be checking off and on. Take care and God Bless you and your SR's.
lala, im sending some people your way for ribbons :) i gave them your email address from the card i have :) they are all in div 02/910 like myself :) hope that was ok :)
I pretty much feel like I won the lottery every time I get a letter from my SR! Today was a good day. Since they are further along in training she said they will be able to send letters out more often too. :D
Another note on RTC FB and N4M as far as last names...RTC FB is Navy monitored...we are self monitored...so I am guessing that they wanted some rules in place for us.
Autumnsunset- it is encouraged here to get everyone used to the OPSEC rules and to try and get them to realize the importance of not talking about ships movement and giving out names and locations. they really should be doingt he same thing on Facebook but they do not enforce it. One of the problems is on here you can change you name and make it anything you want so people don't know who you are but, on facebook your name is your real name and it cannot be changed so easily. In my opinion it is way easy to figure out a lot of info about someone on facebook. You just have to have your privacy settings really secure.
Good morning, all. Hoping that there are some letters from SRs being put in the mail today to you!
Another reminder to please put SARGE'S number in your phone for PIR weekend...for any transportation needs or info needs. You can text/call him anytime. He is wonderful, very knowledgeable, and a godsend to Navy families/SRs/sailors up in Great Lakes 847-212-0246
He also holds a MeetNGreet the night before PIR...info up top.
AutumnSunset...I think FB is actually more private, but with the newer options it has become not as private, it probably would be a good idea to use some of these same guidelines on FB as well.
I know I changed some of my FB posts after evaluating some of the guidelines on here.
Hi Ladies, just a reminder and to inform those that are new to N4M'S.
"OPSEC, OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmust importance. Please take the time to read the Opsec and Community Guidelines. A quick note here: Last Names are never allowed on this site. If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but discouraged as their RDC's read this site and can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture."
You may also read more about this on the N4M's site and why it is important.
However, and maybe FTLW would know more about this, but why is this encouraged here but not on FB? I would think it would be encouraged more on FB being such a public site?
Hope you all are doing good today! Hope you have a great week. Love ya 02/910
