Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. Comment by kathyb ship 02 div 910 on December 17, 2011 at 2:26pm: We received a phone call yesterday...I agree.. it does the heart good! We chatted for 30 minutes. Our SR was in great spirits and said he does like it. He said he has sent a letter and thought we would have received it by now; perhaps it will come today. He has received all of our letters and cards. His grandmother sent him one of those hallmark cards with noises...needless to say the can not have those. His RDC dismantled the noise maker but he was able to keep the card...how funny! Prayers to all SR and families and praying that everyone has good news soon.

Comment by diannep on December 17, 2011 at 12:53pm: Autumn: My son's comment when at Bootcamp was that one RDC was yelling so loud (and spitting! HA!) right into his ear that his ear throbbed! Yep, we talked about him being able to tolerate the yelling before he left for Bootcamp...since he was used to it as the CLASS CLOWN in school (sigh...)...but he had a hard time with Bootcamp yelling! But apprarently...it worked! :-)

It was so good talking to him. Thank you N4M's as I used the questionaires to have something to talk about. Like was stated by others, your mind goes blank and don't know what to say after, I love you and miss you and am proud of you. He is pleased with his choice to join the Navy although the yelling part he finds very hard. Funny really, as when I yelled at him it didn't seem to matter, LOL.

Welll, what a huge sigh of relief. I pray you all receive your letters and call soon as well. And you are still in our thoughts and prayers, Anita.

I Received a 25min. phone call & 3 letters yesterday:). Has made my week :). She's doing well, besides her feet from the boots. :(. She has been assigned to Ship Staff. She's in charge of approving who enters ship @ salutes all officers & such, she also has ship watch 2-4 hours, & makes announcements about uniform of the day, not to mention clean the ship deck. She sounds really happy about having the job. So, yeah I'm in much better spirits :). 41 more days Ladies!!!
