Ship 07 Div 052 Yay!!! I finally got a letter from my son....so many emotions all at once! He is surprised by how homesick he is and doesn't like boot camp very much but sounds okay otherwise. It's so nice to finally have some communication, now I would love a phone call!
Betsy,
Sorry to hear about the family's lost will keep the family in my thoughts/prayers.
Glad to hear your youngest daughter is coming home for winter break. And Congrats that your SRs Christmas break was approved & you got awesome deal on plane ticket. So happy to hear you'll have a wonderful Christmas!
Good Afternoon Everyone!
Laurie, yeah would follow navywife's advise..local gas station is probably the best place, we got ours from the base here.
CoMom92, Your SR is in my SRs brother division.
Navywife11, in my SRs letter it said Dec. 2nd was 1-1 so today would be 2-1.
Judyann, couldn't agree more about why not ship after holiday but guess its better not to complain cause now sooner their PIR..lol.
Mindy, yes it is nice to know that others are thinking about our SRs as well, I'm getting alot of my SRs messaging me for my SRs address. Also yes bring on the Phone Call...can't wait :)
Good Day!
I had been on here and seen the above posts, but had no idea that down at the bottom of the page there was a big discussion wall!
My recruit is Ship 03 Div 047. Looking forward to getting to know some other moms, and possibly meet some up in Great Lakes.
I was bummed to read that my recruit will likely fly out Sat. morning as she is going to Pensacola for A School :( I will gladly take whatever time I can get to spend with her though. I might have to do a birthday trip to Florida to visit my mom and my sailor!
laurie we went through the same thing, go to a gas station, 7-11 or something, theyll have them thats where we found ours, wal mart and places dont carry them like you said except for cell phones :)
Oh, I have a question someone may be able to answer. Where can I get phone cards to send to my son? I have looked at various superstores and they only have minutes for cell phones. Any ideas???
@ judyann, thank you, so if i understand correctly, today is week 2 day 1? so a new week begins on fridays? if thats so then how on PIR is it week 7 day 5? im sorry if im being trouble lol im just trying to understand :)
Hi ladies, sorry I was MIA yesterday. I took my mother Christmas shopping and that's an all adventure because my mother is in a wheelchair. I will try to catch up on my reading on here later tonight because unfortunately I am now heading to a funeral because my sister in law's mom just died. She was 89.
Tonight my youngest daughter flies home from college for her winter break, so I'm excited about that.
I finally heard from my sailor yesterday and his Christmas leave was approved. I spent last night trying to find a flight from him. They were all at least $700-$800 from Pensacola to Maryland. As a last resort, I did the Priceline Name Your Own Price, (which I've never done before) and I put in my bid of $350 and they accepted it.
He will arrive home on 12/17/11, which is exactly one year after he graduated from BC. What an awesome day for his homecoming. We will have him until 12/26, so I'm happy mom today.
Tonya: Wow, I am so glad you got to speak to your SR. My son is in his group so I now kow why I probably have not heard from him. He is one of those that cannot sleep if others are talking or goofing. He is cauht up in it I am sure. He has a real good sense of humor and I hope he can control himself so he doesn't get into trouble. I am hoping his graduation does not get prolonged either. I am supposed to fly out of Ohare on the 29th for Nicaragua on a mission trip and this was too perfect timing. How old is your husband? My son is a bit older than 18 too (not much but a few years). Don't want to give too much info so not to give him away. lol I am really hoping to hear from him soon. Has been almost 3 weeks. He had told me in a letter that they had lost some guys. But, he didn't complain about anything. He is a disciplined hard working young man when it comes to physical fitness so I am hoping the extra hours of PT are not too bad on him. Hope to get to know you more on here and will be praying for you all. God Bless You!
