Dana - Do you know what Rating (job) your son will be training for?
Hello! My SR is SHIP 14 DIV 078. When do we find out where he will be for A school?
Hi all. My name is Rachel. My daughter is Mackenzie. She is ship 12 div 075. Glad to have this support during this time. Especially it being holidays, it's hard to think of her there and us here. I look forward to getting to know you, and maybe meeting some of you at the end of Jan!!!
Thanks much diannep and FTLW for the info. It's good to keep looking forward.
Hello! We rec'd our letter yesterday! Our son is Ship 13, Div 081. I have 5 letters that are going out today. Some silly ones, serious ones and some with sport updates...lol
teaj: I would suggest that you hold the gift cards for Christmas until PIR (you could include a little IOU note in the Christmas card you send). The only time he could possibly use some would be if you get restaurant gift cards for some of the fast food places at Ricky Heaven, where they go after BattleStations (which is done within a week of PIR). So probably best to give him gift cards when you see him for PIR. where you could give him ones for stores he may enjoy...he may even want to use some of them to shop when you are there. Just as long as he keeps in mind that if flying out, he can only buy what will fit in his Navy luggage (and you pass off to him at the airport). If staying in GL for A School, no problem taking these purchases back to that base throughout the weekend.
Make sure the school children writing to the recruits include a return school address and their names so that the SRs can write back. They love this!
Good Morning!
teaj - I posted about the gift cards on BC moms for you.
The divisions started with about 88 Recruits. They lose and gain some along the way, with most graduating about 65 to 75 strong.
lemonelephants post said to send like 95...that seems like a lot, but I guess would cover the bases. Usually, we are seeing school children making all these for the Recruits.
How do I know how many are in his SR's are in my sons division? I saw some who were sending Christmas cards to the whole division and would like to do that if possible. Also, can I send gift cards to my son in his Christmas card. No glitter etc. LOL
