~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.
~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.
~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.
~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:
• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:
• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.
Some Suggestions:
~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.
~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option
~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Very moving tv commercial just released by the Navy
herbgarden, ((hugs)) I'm sure your SR will call back soon. Yep, I think we have your weather this week. I'd be very happy to send it back to you now. ;)
diannep, I've had a few of those refurbished phones with Verizon and sometimes they don't work as well as the one that I turned in to them. :( I hope your mom has a better experience with her's.
herbgarden. I'm assuming your battery is fully charged? I ask because mine was doing crazy things like this. Mine wasn't new and it turned out I needed a new battery. No problems since then. Being a new phone, the battery certainly should not be doing this unless it is defective...which could happen! My mom just got a refurbished (she thought they were installing "new" but shame on ATT for doing this) "defective" modem....lovely...so anything can happen! Hope it gets straightened out soon.
Hoping for the clear albeit chilly weather next weekend for you all that MSgtRet posted about below! At least you will have clear roads in that case...and hopefully sunshine. Just think...this time next week...you will be on liberty with your sailors (unless they are moving over to GL A School base...then you have a couple of hours to wait). HOOYAH!
Good Morning, All!
To those wwriting about existing weather, I agree -- our predicted light dusting for this morning in Dayton OH is over 1.5" so far on my porch & at 17 deg, other than shoveling, nothing is going to work on it! Ugh! So I commiserate with my fellow Northerners! LOL GL looks to be quite cold but clear next week, so a mixed 'yippee' is the best I can come up with.
@herbgarden - yeah, I know what you mean about the phone - been having problems too -- had my ex (SR's Mom) call to test yesterday - seems OK. Now I just had a flipping telemarketing call that got past "do not call list" and dang near gave my a stroke! Ha ha! But yes, phone goes everywhere with me and landline is forwarded to it!
Here's wishing all my fellow "on pins and needles" N4M members the very, very best news over the next couple days! And obviously, all the best to ALL of our SR's. Trust me, this waiting is much, much worse than any and all of the 1.7 years of training itself was for me. ;-)
I'm very much looking forward to meeting so many of you @ Sarge's or PIR itself.
Safe journeys, happy landings, and joyous reunions to all!
Wow, Betsy, isn't that awfully cold for Maryland? You definitely got our weather. Sorry about the socks, jillymom, I bet they don't, but we probably aren't selling bathing suits around here yet. Soon though, because of spring break, lol!
It was snowing in Chicagoland this am. Not bad, only about an inch, much warmer 21 degrees. Don't know if it's slippery yet. Will find out soon, have to leave for work in 45 min.
I think I just missed a call from my SR. My new phone has been acting really funky, dropping calls, not ringing at all, going directly to voice mail without ringing, aaaggh!!!
Phones handy this afternoon for the following divisions, just in case:
077/078/079/080, 804/805, 912
Not saying that all will call...we are just confused on those divisions' BattleStations dates since I received conflicting dates. 4 divisions could have gone last night, but they could have gone with less than that. Calls can start as early as 2 pm Central time.
Remember, all, please do not post future BattleStations dates on here or in the discussions above. You can private message them.
Good Morning Everyone!
Betsy, any time! :-)
Plus our girl from Guam; her LAYOVER is Honolulu. And it's hot there.
