N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Good morning everyone! Okay, anyone else get excited chills when diannep said that our SR's are doing Battle Stations this coming week?!?! I don't have a date yet either but I know it's close because my SR's division is already in week 5. Can't hardly wait to see my son again!!! Praying for all of the divisions to come together and work hard to get through these tough challenges ahead. Let's light those blue candles, everybody!!! GO NAVY!!!

Welcome AFdaughter!  Glad you are here!  If you have not joined your division discussion group yet, please find it above in the Discussion Forum, but stay on this main page too for lots of info!

We ask that all of you bring questions from your discussion groups to this main page...since we N4Moms veterans who are on here don't have time to go through all of the discussion groups but want to answer your questions.  We are on anywhere from 6-8 PIR groups at a time, so there just isn't time to be on all of the discussion groups each day--we just drop into those when we can.

And, guess what, Ladies?  BattleStations for this group will be starting next week!  That is their final test so there will be some special I'm a Sailor phone calls coming in next week.  Here is the link to the BattleStations info:

http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir562011/forum/topics/battlestati...

They will not all go through BattleStations next week. Some divisions will be going during PIR week.  A reminder that we cannot post BattleStations dates on this site but we can private message them, so please do that.  You can post on here that you have a BattleStations date for Div (#).  Let the others contact you for it.

Good Morning!

Lots of "good news" shared on here today!  YAH!

Comment by SR'smomShip12Div079 on January 18, 2013 at 7:33pm

Received our 2nd phone call from our son early Wednesday evening. He sounds great - very positive. He said they went to the NEX & his RDC said "You have 15 minutes to go & make a phone call." He said everything's going well for his division (079). They have been practicing the graduation ceremony and had their pictures taken. Was great to hear from him. Looking forward to 2-1.

@thompdp - thanks for sharing that....he has amazed us thus far with how well things are going for him so I guess anything can happen, right. :) That's a great accomplishment for your son...wow!  This is one aspect of why the delay in communication is tough to deal with - would love to know how he did but I guess I have to wait until my next letter to find out.  13 days!!!!  It's starting to go by quickly now, thank God!

@ Rose (Ship 03, Div 082), My son has never shot a gun and was only 4 points away from expert, so you never know.  Hope your SR does well.  So excited!  Only 13 more days!!!  Hope everyone has a safe journey to Great Lakes.

FTLW - thanks for posting about the Ribbons.  I'm not holding my breath that he will get one for marksmanship but you never know, right?!?!?  And I don't think that playing Call of Duty or Black Ops on Xbox is going to be of any help to him in this case, either! :) Can't wait to get his next letter to see what the results were.  I'll be sure to let you all know. :)

@Rose - of course we will still be friends when the Pats win!  LOL!  You will be watching the game in IL - whilst I will be watching it back home in AZ - where it will be warm!  GO PATS!
