OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

@diannep- Sarge's meet and greet was great! The only small critique I would mention is that it's a bit too dark inside the saloon and was kind of hard to see who was who.... So if there was any way to turn up the lights a bit I think that might help. Other than that, it was a really fun night!

imomxfour:  Thanks so much for taking the time to explain all of this.  This is the first I have heard of something like this.  Wow, how awful.  I appreciate the feedback!

I thought he did a great job for the Meet & Greet, as well as the cab/shuttle service!!

I want to warn you though, if you don't know exactly what his shuttle vans/cabs look like, others lined up after PIR will mislead you if they can. We left later than a lot of others, around 12:20, and I knew from Sarge the night before, that after 12noon, regular cab rates apply (not just $3 per person, depending where you are going) and I called him and he was VERY accomodating to come pick us up - he said someone was already there, and to go ahead and walk over, but he'd be there in a a couple of minutes as well, in case someone else got that van before we walked over. Well...we walked over and with it having been dark that morning, and only know the van colors were dark, when we asked if it was Sarge, he mumbled and we thought he said yes - got in, we verified that it was still just $3 a person like Sarge extended to us and he asked where we were going - Navy Lodge - and he said oh yeah!!! We get in, and on the way there he started bad mouthing Sarge about monopolizing this event. We were pretty ticked off to realize what had happened. Not to mention Sarge was texting me to say he was there - which I saw once we were back at the hotel & I felt horrible to tell him we got in the wrong van. :(

Point is, when Sarge says to call him, he means it - and when he says he'll take care of you, he really does mean it and he will be there for you. Just don't get misled by someone else if you've already made arrangements with Sarge, because they will take advantage of you.

(I understand that others want our business too - but those companies need to do some advertising then - get their name out there & take initiate like Sarge does. Here's another tip - this other van smelled like an ashtray - Sarge's van, that we rode in to PIR that morning, was clean & fresh!!)

Good Morning, Ladies.  I am collecting feedback on your experience with Sarge...both as a taxi service and re: his MeetandGreet.  We want to make sure that anyone/thing we recommend on this site is what we think it is!  So....please comment on here about his service....or....friend request/private message me if you want to remain anonymous.  Thanks so much!

@Not so Blue - don't worry, you can't get rid of me that easily, I'll be on here from time to time.... :)

@diannep - thank you! I will be more than happy to copy that info over.... I was worried that I may have overdone the details but I figured it wouldn't hurt! :)

Congrats to your new sailor, Rose!  And thanks for posting so much great info on Bootcamp Moms!  I know the ladies in the 02/08 group would love to receive that same info, so if you don't mind, can you copy/paste it to that group?  Some of them may be headed up there already but I know many will appreciate the hints you gave.  Thanks!
