N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

@MyNavySon, yes, I will ask my SR.  I will write him this evening again.  He has mentioned a handful of SRs in his division, so I will make sure he knows about your SRs name, too!  As an aside, you may want to remove your post, as you posted your SRs full name.  Just a suggestion.  Are you on the FB page for the PIR date of 2/1/13?

Oh, he also stated that he has made a lot of new friends and it feels as if he has known them for a long time or even like forever . . . and that they share a lot of the same common interests.  I have told him that a lot of these people he meets could potentially be life long friends.  I am very glad that he has connected with people in his division.

Good morning, everyone!  I received 2 letters yesterday from my SR.  What a delight!  He explained that for Christmas dinner, the meat offerings were Prime Rib, Ham and Turkey and he had the Prime Rib and Ham and then commented that "it was good, but not as good as yours, Mom."  They are on their way with PIs and testing and getting ready for weapons simulation.  He said that he is having a tough time with stowing his clothing, but that he is not the only one.  He was very positive though, and stated "I'll get it, no worries."  He also said "I miss you guys, but I push on."  He stated "I wished you guys would have told me that there are 13 buttons on the Navy Dress Blue (Cracker Jack Uniforms)." LOL!  I think my husband did tell him that and he may have forgotten.  Today I sent him the NFL stats with letters 45 and 46 in envelope 29.  Still looking for a phone call!  Have a great day!

For those that asked, here is proper way you present your challenge coin to your sailor.  It's a military wide Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard.

Good Morning Ladies!

Congrats, DaytonMom/Dad, on the call!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on January 8, 2013 at 12:14am

It really did Dianep, with some of the things the kids said during different class discussions you could tell they were worried and sad about it all as well. I am subbing for the same class tomorrow :)
