N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hope all are on their way to PIR!  Some may already be on base, making their way to the PIR Hall.  For those of you who haven't left your hotels yet....get moving!  :-)  But especially....enjoy this very special day!

Remember, you only have about 10 minutes after PIR is over to get your hugs and piks before they will clear the hall, so keep that in mind!

Hoping that some calls eventually came in from 087/088/912....but if not, it will be extra special to see the sailors from those divisions this morning!

Comment by diannep on February 1, 2013 at 12:05am

So sorry there were no calls from 087/088/912, or at least none posted here.  All go to PIR...your sailors should be there!  :-)

Remember...be early tomorrow....you won't regret it!  15 divisions is the largest PIR group so it will be very crowded.  Be in car lines between 5:30 and 6 a.m....or on the earliest shuttles you can get on.  Gates open at 6:30, PIR Hall at 7.  But most importantly...enjoy!

mommyof5  that FTLW wrote below has a daughter in Div 77.  Hoping that someone can help!

Correct, herbgarden.  If she is not on the list, she can't get in.  She can't hang out on the base.  Maybe there would be a fast food place near there open for breakfast that she could hang out in?  She may be there for a while though (PIR is over at 10:30 but by the time you sailor checks back into ship, etc, it could be 11:15 or later before you all get off base). There is also the train station that is right past RTC.  That may be a better option for her to stay in, but I have no idea what the station is like.  Hoping she can wait inside though!

Hope that it works out!

Okay, so my oldest daughter comes home from work today and says she got Friday off, so she wants to go to her sisters graduation. !!! I had already told everyone that only 3 guests were allowed, and since she was working anyway, I thought we agreed that I, her father, and younger sister were going to go.

She won't be allowed on base if she's not on the list, correct? There is no where else for her to hang out till her sister is on liberty, is there? We are driving up that morning, so no hotel room for her to hang out in.
