~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Jodenne:  He gets the award for writing the most letters at once to so many different people!  That is wonderful!

Happy Christmas Eve to everyone!

Good Morning everyone, Happy Christmas Eve. I know it's hard with your recruits away at boot camp but I hope you are enjoying the holidays and spending some time with other family members. One thing I am sure of, your recruits would want you to be happy and celebrate this time with your family. Take lots of pics so you can share them with your recruit. Maybe even make a "Flat Stanley" of your recruit and have him in some Christmas pictures. Then send one to your soon to be Sailors. I bet they would love it :) In case you don't know what a flat Stanley is here is a description :) Enjoy, have fun, and God Bless you all <3

Flat Stanley can be a boy or you could make it a girl. You draw it and decorate it however you like. Then he/she goes on an adventure. You could take him shopping, to the park, to dinner, to visit all your family and friends for Christmas, even have him/her at the Christmas dinner or wrapping or opening a present. Take pics and then send a couple of the best ones to your recruit. My niece was doing this as a school project when my daughter was joining the Navy. She mailed Flat Stanley to us and we took him to the going away party and to MEPS and he joined the Navy as well lol. Then we made him a Sailor outfit and mailed him back to the school. It was a lot of fun taking all the pics and writing about his adventure in boot camp :)  There have been several moms on this site who did this and then took flat Stanley to the Meet and Greet and PIR. It was a lot of fun to see all the pics and their Sailors really got a kick out of it. Anything to make them laugh or put a smile on their face and to put a smile on your face as well. {{{{{HUGS}}}}} Merry Christmas

@Terrinbuda! So glad to talk to someone in the same Div. Our first two letters were in one envelope, but two days later we got another one! He must have hit everyone in the address book I prepared for him! My phone blew with messages that they had received a letter! He explained a little something different to each one! He had to have written 8 letters! Maybe he should be studying more! Ha! But has passed both the Swim test and his physical test! He ran the 1.5 mile in 9:32!! Yahoo! I ask what BC job he was assigned to in this letter so hopefully we will know soon! Crossing our fingers that he'll call. He told his sister that he will have a half a day off for both holidays!

Good night everyone! Merry Christmas to all!

Just remember...when a division loses some SRs, they aren't all discharged.  Some are asmoed (setback) in training and will resume training eventually with another PIR group.  Happened to my son.  Most will eventually become sailors!  Your SRs' divisions will be getting some other SRs back from earlier PIR groups who were asmoed and are now ready to train.  But they never get back up to the starting number in the division, it seems.

that video really helped me. Its great to know that thewill be fed, and maybe able to call home. I was able to speak to my sailor yesterday, he sounded a bit tired but very anxious to get to get past theh0 days remaining and over to his A school. he said he felt like he was in a box, and oe called right back to wish me a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. got to love him that's my hubby. He also said he had been writing but not able mail letters out until today. so hopefully we will get mail from division 804 ship 4 after Christmas sometime

First Baptist Church hosts sailors who can't be home every Christmas...they get as many sailors as possible.  They've had 500 before.  So ladies with guys at Great Lakes for Christmas, they may get the opportunity to enjoy a home cooked meal and a nice family atmosphere.  The families who give their Christmas to these men and volunteer bring their cell phones and let sailors use it as much as they would like.  I love this church.  Some of the families have sailors of their own and understand what they are going through.  I'd love to be there to help.  Please click on the link and watch the video :) It will warm your heart :)) Merry Christmas to you and your families.  Thank you for giving up Christmas with your sailor so our country can survive and thrive.  I love my sailor and I am so proud of him :)) Ship 04 Division 805

@Jodeene- I'm so jealous that you have received three letters. But very happy for you.  Our sons are in same boat/div. and we have only received 2 letters and one was sent directly to his sister.  My son also sounded in good spirits.  He also mentioned that they were down several -very sad for those boys.
