N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Hi we just joined the group.

Our son left for boot camp from Columbus,Ohio on 12/6, he is in ship 4 Div 088/087. Doe's anyone else have a son or daughter in that division?

We received his letter on Monday. Can't wait to here from him.

Lala, I sure will. I will be not acting you to order ribbons. What name is used most often, first or last? I have discovered that Alex is very popular with the PIR 02/01 group. At last count there are 5--3 males, 2 females!

Lita, in order to advance to E-2 they have to accomplish certain things. If they completed things during DEP and the recruiter signed off on it and they pass a test when they get there then they can get to E-2 and if they had enough college credits they would have had paperwork to prove it before they left and they will be E-2 when they get out but actually get back pay for E-2 for the 2 months of bootcamp. I think there may be a chance of getting E-2 for passing everything with a certain score but I'm not sure about that. I think the only way to have E-3 is to have gone in with an E-2 and passed all those tests at the beginning or to have a college degree already.

photomom, that is awesome, so happy for you. I know you will sleep well tonight :)

Alex and I talked about several things:
1. Her retainer-they let her keep it! Thank goodness!
2. Military glasses- she said she likes them and she's a little fashionista! Told her not to wear them on her graduation pics!
3. Swim test-said she thought she was going to die!!! They told the girls who couldn't swim or could barely swim to get in the front row. So if course Alex got in the front (thinking the swimmers would go first). Well the front row went first! She said inspire of it all, she passed!!! She can swim, enough to keep from drowning!
4. Mail-asked me if I had received her letter. I haven't yet. Said she wanted some mail. I told her I mailed about 12 letters on Saturday and have been making at least one daily since then. I also told her that many others were writing to her as well.
5. Dental-her teeth were grest so they only cleaned them. She had her wisdom teeth pulled this summer.
6. Graduation pics-don't order anything larger than an 8x7! Subliminal message to order pics!!!!
So enjoyed our talk. She sounded good. Heard no hints of unhappiness or of her being homesick. She did want to talk to her little sis though!

Oh I like the rank coin. My husband is CW3 in the Army. He could present the coin to my son. Do they graduate as E2 then make E3 after school or do they graduate?
