OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

@MSgtRet, I talked to them and also the ID office. They both said I need to wait for my husband to send me the DD1172 form so that I can bring it in and get my ID. I am hoping it's gonna come soon. :)
But I am fine, just patiently waiting. :)

Alison - 083's Brother division is 084.

The Regular Divisions "Brother up"in pairs starting with the first division of the TG. So 077/078 and so on until 088.

No, sposton.  Don't send anything but letters and cards.  My son received a pkg from someone (we never knew who) when he was there for Christmas 2009.  He got the 3rd degree from the RTCs about who sent it, but he had no clue who sent it, and had to open it in front of the RDCs.  It was full of Christmas treats.  It was taken from him, of course, and later, he saw the RDCs in their office enjoying them!

When do they find out for sure about the location of their A school
Comment by Alison(LS A school) on December 16, 2012 at 8:12pm

How do you know what the brother divisions are?  my son is in Div 83.

Comment by CAROLINA GIRL on December 16, 2012 at 8:02pm

I haven't received any letter yet. When do you think I may get mine? Also are we allowed to send anything special for them for Christmas. Any packages?

Comment by Rose HM A School on December 16, 2012 at 7:55pm
@GA2- that was sweet! Thanks for sharing. Hope you get your form letter tomorrow. We got ours last week so now I'm waiting for my first "real" letter from my son. Hoping maybe by Wednesday or Thursday?!?! Fingers crossed!!! Happy Sunday to all...

I thought I would share the note from my son with ya'll.  It amazes me that he thought to include it in his box home.  :)  I really hope we get the form letter tomorrow, but even more than that, I can't wait for a "real" note from my son. Hope everyone has a blessed week!  ~s

Glad you are feeling better, Lala!

Welcome, Lisa!  Glad you found the group!  Do some exploring on this page for info posted by FTLW.  Look in the PAGES section underneath the MEMBERS photo box above and to the right.  More info will be added as bootcamp progresses.

TJsMom:  They train with their brother divisions so are with them constantly!  Some of my son's best friends were the brother division.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on December 16, 2012 at 12:21pm

I am not sure but I think they may tell them about what happened or at least part of it. the reason I think this is because I heard on the news that all gov and military flags are at half mast so it seems they would all be wondering why. And FTLW is right. There have been several times that recruits have been allowed to make calls home to check on families when there was some kind of storm or devastation in a certain area. So if any live in that area or have family in that area they may get to call home.

I am so sorry I have been MIA from this site and facebook for several days. I have been really sick and trying to do as little as possible so I could feel better before my Sailors come home for Christmas. I am feeling a little better now and I am going to do a little last minute shopping and then get back home and get busy working again :) i hope you all have a wonderful Sunday.
