I know way more than I ever wanted to about cars breaking down while on vacation after our truck needing a new rear end summer before last when we were in FL. It was in the shop for 9 days :(
For anyone visiting Pensacola you absolutely must try Flounders restaurant at Pensacola Beach. They have the BEST Key Lime pie in the world. Yummy!!!!
raeinaz, you may just see that happen. I went to Pensacola to see my son in A school and we had dinner with another sailor from his boot camp class and his family, who were there at the same time. The 2nd time that I went to FL to visit my son, we had plans to get together with yet a different sailor and his family, who was also visiting, but unfortunately we couldn't at the last minute. Their car broke down and they actually ended up buying a new car while they were in FL because it had pretty much died.
So, we all may see each other again in San Antonio :)
raeinaz, we are also flying into Milwaukee, same reason, plus less traffic. Temps are very unseasonably warm.
Barbie, I was told that they do keep the interstates very clear when we were deciding to drive or fly. Still decided to fly because SR's dad flies to Korea on the 20th....frequent flier miles for a trip to San Antonio when he grads from A school :-)
Chocolatelablover....I don't know if I need a wool coat if the weather stays like it is today...Did you see the temp right now in Great Lakes. 50? are my eyes deceiving me today....I know this cannot be normal at all...I had to fight to get time off for PIR so we will be flying in on the 16th....we will be doing lots of praying for no snow. We are flying into Milwaukee....I heard a lot less cancelled flights
chocolatelover, it is a great idea to get there a day or so beforehand, if you are able too.
We are flying in at noon on the 16th. The rest of my group could not get off of school or work on the 15th. I have been praying for good travel weather since he enlisted last June. I am so afraid of not being able to fly. I will drive if I have to though.
Tuesday Trivia!!!!! Who is prepared?
Raeinaz..I believe you will need that wool coat. I ordered a new one also for PIR. I have not really needed it this winter; Which concerns me
Earlier in Jan, I told all my co-workers, family & friends to watch out for Feb. Then yesterday, Jim Cantore of the weather channel was discussing the change of weather pattern that seems to be developing for mid-Feb. We are flying to GL on the 15th because of my concern for a snow storm. Hope some of you are doing that too. Every prayer has a no snow request. Have a great day!
