Choc, my stepdaughter also loves UNCW and that has ben her first choice for a long time now. We went thee to your the school in Nov and had a great time.it is a beautiful school. But, now that it its getting close to choosing for sure where she will go she is thinking more and more about UNC charlotte. I think she doesn't want to be so far away from home :)

We had those storms last night Betsy. Today finally some sunshine and it is really warm for January.
UNC80, I do know him, just not personally. It seems like he was also on the sheriffs department too but I could b wrong.

Good Morning ladies, I hope your Friday is a good one.

chocolatelablover, Yikes!  That sure is an early start to your day

Lala, your soggy weather has now found it's way to Maryland.  We actually had thunder/lightening this morning when I was walking my dog.

Comment by chocolatelablover on January 27, 2012 at 8:34am

Good Morning Everyone! Now that my hubby is on travel, I have the morning dog walks, so that means up at 0400 to start my day. Plus I wanted to get to work a bit early, so I can leave early for the mailbox check. No letter yesterday, so some disappointment. Maybe today!!!

Connie, so glad that your SR passed.  He only had to run a 12:15 to pass so he had room to spare.  And congrats to your daughter on being conference champs.

Three more weeks and we'll be there.  So excited.

Lala, the new NC Director of Probation and Parole (my BIG boss) is from Transylvania Co. - David Guice.  He was a Congressman or Senator.  Do you know him?

Comment by chocolatelablover on January 26, 2012 at 10:27pm
Lala...too funny. We made a trip out that way to Lees McRae for a visit. Had some snow during the trip. My SR ended up at UNCW. Decided he liked the surf & sand over the ski slopes.

I hope you all are having a wonderful DRY day. It is raining here AGAIN, I swear I have moved to Seattle :-) Transylvania County in NC is one of only 2 places in the continental US with enough rainfall to be considered a rain forest. the difference in this year and last year?  last year colder temps gave us 37 inches of SNOW. I guess no more complaining about rail lol...... okay thanks for letting me vent lol

He is 19.  Thank you for confirming.  I am happy with him passing.  Running is not his thing.

Comment by chocolatelablover on January 26, 2012 at 1:36pm

Connie, I don't know what his age is, but he passed in the 17-19 age group and all other age groups older than that. It isn't a score of Excellent, but it's passing & that's what counts. I work with Navy personnel so they gave me the scoop Think we can trust them!

Comment by Connie (Ship03 Div 070) on January 26, 2012 at 12:06pm

He said he improved and did the mile and a half in 11:40.  I have to look and see if that is passing.  He got his first choice of jobs so that is good  news.  He also said he still thinks he made the right decision, joining the navy.  I'm really glad to hear that.
