For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

If it is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended. First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember someone can easily match them up with their "mom". Comment by chocolatelablover on February 16, 2012 at 8:56am: It is 6 am & I am sitting in our room at the Navy Gateway Inn. Weather is still overcast,but no snow! :-) Rain last night on drive from the airport but not complaining! Tomorrow at this time we will be just a very few hours from seeing our sailors and it won't matter what the weather is because the sun will be shinning for all if us!
My sailor called my DIL so we found out yesterday that some of those going to San Antonio; flight departs at 3 pm so we will go to airport to visit. He said he is going to make us leave at noon because he is the leader in charge of getting everyone together & has all their paperwork,etc. If you are going to be at meet & greet (Sarge's) I will tell you what time they are departing from GL.

Mine graduated in Dec 2010 and I'm just now starting his scrapbook. If you are a scrapbooker, make sure you take lots of good pics while in Great Lakes. My nephew is graduating on Friday! So excited for everyone!!! If you are a scrapbooker, there are some nice bootcamp die cuts on ebay. Have FUN everyone on Friday. Hooyah!!

Comment by raeinaz on February 15, 2012 at 5:44pm: So I just got my last letter fro our SR....You know once he gets that cell phone there will be no more letters sent home..it will be nice to be able to talk to him or at least text him when we want...but Wednesdays have become such a great day...to get his letters, and read them....and then reread them from the start of this journey to see the changes in him, in his letters....I will miss my Wednesdays letters...

He has been sick and on LLD so was not able to participate in Captains Cup....was not happy about that...seems like Pink Eye is being passed around big time....:(
