Congrats on the call proudmom2011!
This TG had longer"P" days (because of the Christmas stand down at RTC) that's why they are on their third week. If you count back weeks from PIR date they are right on schedule...no worries. So glad you got a nice long call! Big (((hugs)))!

Heard from my SR today. We talked for a long time but I still cried when he said he had to go. He told me he has been sick and had to walk a mile with the snow blowing in his face to call. We covered a lot during the call but I can't tell you how nice it was to hear his voice. He sounded so calm and manly. Reported that his experience hasn't been bad but he does miss us.
I hope everyone got to hear from their SR today! It was fabulous. Quite frankly I was beginning to worry. It has been 4 weeks today but according to him they are just about to start their 3rd week. Go figure?????
Everyone that talked their SR today please share.

Connie maybe the extra milk is for cereal in case you can't cook lol. Or better yet so you can make snow cream yum yum

Have been praying for the family of the SR and all who knew them.

Lala, I am originally from NY but have been in NC 18 years.  I still forget the store is going to be out of milk and bread if they call for snow.  I also can't figure out why you need extra milk

The news says he was to graduate next week!

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on January 12, 2012 at 1:48pm

Yeah Betsy we are expecting snow this evening, not sure how much. It all depends on where it comes from. When the cold fronts dip down south and then come up the eastern coast we get hit pretty hard. If it is snowing in Atlanta we head to the store lol. And so does every other person in this area. Snow seems to trigger the mind to think "Bread and Milk" lol Luckily we have 4 wheel drive and live in walking distance to 2 grocery stores :-)

Linda, we are all very sad and with heavy hearts. His PIR was to be next week from what the news reports have said. All we can do is lift up his family and our navy family in prayer.

My prayers go out to the family, friends, and everyone at RTC following the loss of the SR yesterday.  I'm pretty sure he was to graduate tomorrow...so sad!  I'm sure there will be MANY tears during PIR.  Please keep everyone in your thoughts and prayers on this sorrowful day!

Lala, are you expecting snow?  Yikes!  I sure hope you can go.  That's so exciting that they are getting a house.

My prayers go out to the family and friends of the SR who passed away. Stay strong everyone.

Good morning everyone, I hope you all have a good day and only good news from your soon to be Sailors. My prayers are with them all today and always.

I will be off and on here today. Going to stay busy making the ribbons and scarves today and getting as many in the mail as possible. We are expecting snow tonight.

I just really find myself wanting to hug my Sailor right now and I am seriously thinking about going to VA this weekend to see her. They are moving from their apartment into a house and I am sure could use the help. We will have to see what this weather does. They may be able to keep the roads cleared from it pretty good up north but here in the mountains that doesn't really work. Have a great day everyone.
