N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends".

Kandilee,

Thanks for popping in!!  Glad to see you!!

OMGosh!!  I just noticed I misspelled "Friends" 11 hours ago and posted the scripture on  hmmmm 9 groups??  Was rushing to get out and help my husband mow the lawn (I do the edging, sweep, and get the weeds in the cement crevices).  Did you know that you can use salt to kill weeds?  I use it on the ones that crop up in the lines on our cement driveway and in between the brick walkway.  It dries up the weed and they don't come back.

He loves SC, especially since the base is about 17,000 acres and has lots of woods and water.  He's a nature boy and grew up in the country.  He told me last night he wanted me to mail him his fishing rod, lol!  He went into Charleston on Sat and said he thought it was a really neat city.  He's hanging out with several 916 guys and bowling a lot. (there's a bowling alley and game room on base).  Classes started Monday and he said they are going to be tough but he knows if he really applies himself he can do it.  So far, so good!

Hi Sunshine-getting better because the snow is almost melted from my yard!

My sailor is liking the weather for sure!  I think it has been cold the last few days (like 50 instead of 70)  Rough!

How is SC treating yours?

Thanks CatMom. My sailor just called this evening saying that she got her 1st order & asked me to guess where... I guess Hawaii or San Deigo but she said JAPAN.... She will have 30 days leave back home after her graduation from A school before flying off to Japan for 2 yrs. I thought for the 1st time, they will be base locally. But I guess I'm wrong. And 2 yrs for a new sailor... that's abit shock & frightening. 1st time flying out on her own to a new country. Hope some of her team will be going with her to Japan. Thought of flying with her & help her settle down before I fly back. But I think they won't allow it.

Spomss,

Virus?  The flu kind and the computer kind??  Awww, feel better and hoping your virus protection can kick that thing out of your computer or it has to be cleaned out and you lose all your stuff (not good!!).  What other groups are you involved in?

Comment by spomss on March 26, 2013 at 4:36pm

Hello mommas!  Been battling a virus with me and my computer:(

Thinking of all our Sailors and all the hard work they have accomplished in such a short time!  Love being able to see them grow and learn through all the posts here and learning more about what each of them is doing :)
