diannep... Thanks, I know, it was just such a shock... Waiting to hear they are okay, and then hearing they are so far from okay, and there's not much you can do about it. Except write more letters, lol

Amy:  Hang in there...this is the very very hard part of BC for them....lots of yelling, ordering, confusion.  It is hard for the first few weeks, and then gets much better (usually in about training week 4).  So....you are doing the right thing by sending lots and lots of mail because that is where their encouragement comes from.

You will look back on these posts down the road...and realize how far all have come including your SR.  So just know that "this too shall pass" and pray hard for the SRs.  Share no negative news...all positive and encouraging.  You are the connection to their outside world...so just keep plugging everything good and positive and they will make it through!

Good morning everyone! I just wanted to give a few words of advice for those still waiting for their form letters and even those that have already received them. I was waiting with great anticipation for that piece of mail to arrive! I justed happened to check my mailbox on my way out of the driveway, on my way to work. I was sure there was no mail due to the weather, but I had to take the chance. Boy, was I surprised, excited, and soooo happy when I saw the envelope and his return address. I even did a little dance in the driveway! Sat in my car and very carefully opened the envelope, and immediately say my SR's writing on the back of the letter. It took about 30 seconds for my excitement to turn into complete devastation! Yes, our PIR is 03/09/2012, but the written words broke my heart. I have messages some veteran moms on this site, and talked to just about everyone I know that has been to bootcamp. I will not go into detail here, but believe me when I say you may not be very happy when you read the note from your SR. I know it will get better, and today about 30 envelopes were mailed to him with words of love and encouragement from his friends and family, although I don't know when he will receive them, he will, and that's te important part! Sorry for rambling, I just wanted to put out a little warning to all that are excitedly waiting for the mail.

Jaysnavymom and AmyaodRN.  So excited for you both in receiving your letters this weekend.  I can't wait for mine to come so I can get busy making plans for PIR. My son has only been gone for a week but it feels like forever.   I hope everyone has a good week and GOOD MAIL too!!!  Yes, I have joined the rest of you...I am now a mailman stalker LOL

Don't want people to get scared off of this site because of the RDCs reading the posts.  They read the RTC FB site too which is much more "exposed."  Normally it is not a problem having them read the posts here.  But we just ask that you are wise in what you post.  Posting almost verbatim what your SR wrote in a letter is never a good idea.  General comments about how they are doing and even what training point they are at are good choices. Save the details for private messages.

Some ladies form closed division groups on FB to avoid having comments read.  Hopefully they stay on here too for information purposes and to get to know the ladies who are not on FB.

Good morning all!

Welcome Jaysnavymom!

Glad you are "confirmed" Amy!

Wanted to caution anyone who may be using their SR's last name in their screen name. Don't know if anyone in this group as done that, but they have in other PIR groups.  It is not a good idea to do that and actually, the use of SR's last names is forbidden on N4Moms.  Although your SR's first name is allowed, we recommend you don't use it in your posts.  Just better to try and remain anonymous on this site, separate from your SR.

We know that on RTC Facebook, last names are exposed.  We N4Moms veterans still don't understand that since they aren't allowed on here.  OPSEC (Navy security) prohibits them also....

Wow... So many new members to this group! It's great to have you all here as we all trudge through this difficult time. Just having a place to go that you others are sharing your fears and celebrating the smallest milestones is a huge help. WELCOME EVERYONE!
